The front desk men was very very nice to us, asking us details of our trip and giving recommendations on where to have dinner. That was the absolute plus of our stay

I've been coming to Morro Bay for decades. I love the little shops (especially Coalesce Bookstore, the Garden Gallery, and the Shell Shack), and the food is excellent, with something in all price ranges. If you're on a budget, the Harbor Hut and Giovanni's Fish Market have excellent take-out (fish and chips, burgers, etc.) for about $20, and offer outdoor tables overlooking the bay. The scenery is unsurpassed. It is a short drive to Los Osos and Montana de Oro in one direction, and San Luis Obispo and great beaches in the other direction. The SLO Botanical Garden is a must-see if you are interested in Mediterranean-climate gardening.

Morro Bay is very relaxed and was a great place to unwind.
Morro Bay is very relaxed and was a great place to unwind. We enjoyed our 2 night stay and found it was enough time to do some shopping, sightseeing, dining, and take in the beautiful sunsets. We mainly explored the Morro Bay area which is a charming little town full of cute boutiques, gift shops and cafes/sweets shops, and restaurants-and a couple dozen sea lions (that you can hear barking occasionally). The main area is pretty compact and walkable- most of it is within a mile -and the views of the rock in the background are so pretty. One morning we drove to Moonstone Beach and to the Elephant seal vista point (just north of Hearst Castle) and that was fun and definitely worth the short drive. We enjoyed eating at Suns n Buns bakery, La Katrina Mexican, and the Morro Grill. Hope to come back again some day!

Weather was uncooperative for most of stay.
Weather was uncooperative for most of stay. Visit to SLO was pleasant enough, sunny but a little humid due to partly cloudy skies; ate lunch on Friday at Guiseppe's Italian Restaurant. They had great homemade bread and pizza! Trip up the coast north of San Simeon earned us considerable fog and overcast skies. Enjoyed a late lunch at sandwich shop in San Simeon on Saturday. Morro Bay itself leant us fog and overcast skies for the most part. A little chilly in the mornings and evenings when I first got there on Thursday. Warmed up more during the weekend. Took a tour of Piedras Blancas Lighthouse: interesting piece of local history with various museums to tour and small gift shop.

I always enjoy Morro Bay. It has the perfect mixture of shops, restaurants, bars, museums, etc. Plus, everyone that lives there is really chill. No snooty people here!
Also, make sure you hit the Hofbrau restaurant. Unique and delicious.

We booked in Morro Bay to attend graduation at Cal Poly nearby. Graduation weekend means high prices, but the Morro Bay Beach Inn was a reasonable value. Clean, comfortable, and 2 blocks from the water -- I would stay there on a return visit. The owner is hands-on, and cares about his guests' comfort.
We had just one nights stay at the hotel. It was very nice and an amazing location too. The room was a satisfactory for a one night stay although our TV didn't work which was somewhat dissapointing. The bar area and outside tables where a perfect place to watch the sunset over Morro Bay.
The property was in a great location and very clean. Staff was extremely friendly. We could have stayed for weeks. Would highly recommend to stay when in Morro bay.
