This is one of our favorite places to visit.
This is one of our favorite places to visit. The people of the Navajo Nation are very welcoming, kind, and interesting so take the time to meet them and learn from them about this valley. The land is stunning - there is nowhere like it. We love enjoying the sounds and sights of the birds and learning about the other animals here. Seasons are a show: the wind, the clouds, snow, rain, blooms. Enjoy the scenery at different times of day. Photography & video are stunning so be prepared to go to all the scenic viewpoints and pullouts. There are many nice hikes of all lengths, though it can get very windy and quite cold, with serious threat from extremes with little notice. Beware hiking at sunset -- once it gets dark, it gets VERY dark so bring a flashlight. Most people drive thru fairly quickly, but we recommend lingering to enjoy it.

Nothing to dislike.
Nothing to dislike. The signs say the scenic drive is only for 4x4 vehicles, but it's not really so, they allow SUVs. Minivans will probably get stuck because there are so many potholes. And you surely cannot go in with a prius. We saw a car in front of us that got stuck on a hill and people had to come out of their cars to help pushing it.

Monument Valley is an awesome place.
Monument Valley is an awesome place. We took the tribal sunrise tour and I highly recommend it! We were planning to take the stargazing tour but it was cloudy, so they offered the sunrise tour or a reschedule in it's place. They also offered a refund, so I really appreciated the options..

Mainly a passing town and not worth a night as the hotel prices are pretty steep. Less food choices as well. One way to see this place is arrive in the morning and leave by late afternoon. A few hours is what you need.

Great spot for a tour both a guided and a self guided if you have time. Just prepare for the weather if you are doing a tour on an open bus! Great Navajo guides and a great opportunity to learn more about Native American people.

in order to best take in the valley - I would give yourself a full day to do the scenic drive within the park, and check out some of the other scenic spots nearby. The scenic drive is only available for a short window mid day so plan accordingly. the formations and local pride in the area is very memorable.

best location when it comes to Monument Valley. Rooms were probably better than i expected, nice large and comfy bed, bathroom was kind of vintage and cozy. I mean you know where you are booking, it is not a 5 star hotel but this is a great experience when it comes to staying in the national parks. Waking up to the Monument Valley view was a great bonus.
The food at the restaurant is very decent, large portions and decently priced.
This hotel is so well located from every room you have the beautiful view on monument valley.
The room was very nice with two big confortable beds, a nice bathroom an an outdoor space with the view.
It’ about 10min from the entrance of the Valley drive and 20min from the Forest Gump point.
There is a nice restaurant as well !
The room was well appointed and very clean. The view from the verandah of our unit was amazing. The hotel was very close to the entrance to Monument Valley and had easy access to fuel, groceries, restaurant and laundromat facilities.
Wonderful location with nice view to the monument valley panorama. The Lodge offers a restaurant, a supermarket and a “food court” at the fuel station….. many food options for anybody.
