Property was very clean. And quiet! Beautiful small patio outside of room that overlooked a wooded area. I really liked the update room, comfortable bed and very nice shower. Definitely will stay there again.

the woman at the front desk was fantastic!( i wish I could rember her name ) the room was clean, and the beds were comfy. It was our first visit to Michigan City and hopefully will not be our last. It has been, our favorite small town stop so far. we would definitely stay at this hotel again, when visiting.

I can tell Michigan City used to be a booming place to live AND visit; however, it seems to be degrading. Some spots seem rough and slightly dangerous. There are cute spots to shop, peruse, and hang out with your group. The beach/ park area is clean and accommodating for many people. Other than the beach, there are not many extracurriculars to do. Many food options and a good amount of outdoor recreation options as well. Driving around is not that difficult. It has definitely became more expensive in just the past few years... Overall a decent city (depending on location) with diverse food options, nice beaches and trails, and overpriced over night stays.

Michigan City is a great area; there is the State Park and the National Park nearby. Both offer great hiking on / near the sand dunes. There are several beaches and all are free: the parking can be challenging so you have to be careful. There is good shopping and a casino and spa. We ate at several fantastic restaurants that I would highly recommend: Cool Runnings for Jamaican food, Fish Camp for seafood, and Cafe Farina for Italian food.

Loved the Washington Park beach.
Loved the Washington Park beach. It was nice to park and be so close to the beach! We also really enjoyed the Washington Park Zoo, it was small but fun and inexpensive. If we had more time, we definitely would have gone to the Friendship Botanical Gardens.

Nothing that I expected.
Nothing that I expected. The National park and State parks are very nice. The beaches were surrounded by Steel Mills. Wasn't feeling the vacation atmosphere. Huge Nuclear plant near the shore
The city wasn't much of a beach town. Alot of industry controlled the shoreline. I traveled Michigan's side of Lake Michigan. Several quaint beach towns align the coast.
We ended up going to Buffalo City MI to capture the feel of being on a vacation.

We drove around town for awhile to find a place to eat dinner. Finally found a cozy pub where the food was very good, but I don't recall the name. The town has some very nice art work scattered around and the library looked lovely. It was almost raining the days we were there or we would have visited the dunes. Our visit was only for 1 night so we didn't have time to sightsee, but the folks there were very nice.It looks like they are trying hard to overcome some of the unfortunate effects of covid, and we wish them all the best!
