Mechanicsburg is a historic working-class community only a few miles from the state capital, Harrisburg. It has a world-class community park for activities, picnics, or just relaxing. There is a full range of restaurants and amenities. The town is surrounded by farm country to the south, including Pennsylvania's famous orchards in Adams and Franklin counties. The Civil War's turning point, Gettysburg, is less than half an hour to the south. There are numerous nearby small colleges--Dickinson, Gettysburg, Franklin and Marshall, and Bucknell. The Hershey Medical Center and its many specialized care programs is 15 miles away. Hershey Chocolate and its Amusement Park and Chocolate World attract millions of visitors annually. All in all, a vibrant area yet one that affords outdoor exploration and the best of mid-Atlantic agriculture, especially fruit production in the late summer and fall. This is my hometown, and although my family is mostly gone, I am still attracted to the place...and not just for its memories.

The rooms need total renovation.
The rooms need total renovation. Mattresses were old and very uncomfortable, bathroom tub had mold under caulking and under knob on shower, didn’t use. Too much deodorize to mask old stuffy smell. First rm air conditioner didn’t work so we were move to another room. The night manager was accommodating. We usually stay at holiday day express but after this experience I think the Hampton is are choice.

We actually are before checking in …remembering past visit, you’re too early. And as I noted then I really didn’t thing 45 mins early would be an issue.
However we waited and checked in after 3:00. There were no issues.

We loved the room!
We loved the room! it was very large, we had a beautiful kitchen , dining area with a sofa bed, separate bedroom and beautiful bathroom . we were very happy with the size of the room and the staff was very friendly. every time I needed something they came right away to give it to us . the breakfast was great too

We are familiar with Mechanicsburg and Central PA. The Country Inn and Suites, Mechanicsburg, is an excellent location for visiting the entire area. You can get anywhere easily and in very reasonable time because of the excellent interstate road system. If rooms in Harrisburg are not available, Mechanicsburg is an excellent alternative.

Dirty and worn out! Bad Parking Lot Lighting.
Dirty and worn out! Bad Parking Lot Lighting. Not easy access from interstate! Welcome rug at front door dirty & worn out. Our Suite was horrible. The blackout curtain was hanging down 2 feet from rod holder on the end you close. The couch & wing back chair were so dirty we wouldn’t set on them. The couch cushions were flattened out & sunk down below couch frame. Knobs missing from doors!!! The Pool needs to be closed, it’s in discussing condition! Peeling paint, floor of pool stained badly, spider webs from rail steps to water! So cold you could use, of course we didn’t because of pool & pool room condition.
Beds were very comfortable. Rooms were spacious and clean. Small Kitchenette had everything you need including a dishwasher. Staff was very nice. The breakfast had a lot of choices and was very good. Great value for your money. Would highly recommend. Our family had no complaints. This is the first stay we have said “wow” what a nice hotel.
