Gorgeous small town about an hour outside the park.
Gorgeous small town about an hour outside the park. Really great base to have as it has it all - shops, large grocery store, gas stations, restaurants and bars. Would definitely stay in Mariposa again.

Mariposa is an interesting little town with lots of places to eat and a variety of interesting and quirky shops. The locals were friendly and helpful. It is very conveniently located for those wishing to visit Yosemite National Park. The drive on the back roads from El Portal to Mariposa boasts some spectacular views

Mariposa is a nice country town with good range of shops, services and food options for its size (including a supermarket), even in our early spring visiting time. This is due to its proximity to Yosemite NP about 70km away (our reason for visiting). If using the YARTs bus service to access the park its a great base.

Mariposa is about as close you can get to Yosemite without staying in the park, but it's still an hour drive from the valley. This is fine if you're visiting the park for 1 or 2 days, but after 2 days, you'll definitely have had enough of the driving. The town itself is very cute and has tons of nice places to eat. There is also a very large supermarket.

The Day and Night Staff were very kind and helpful, everything was clean and functional, and you CANNOT beat the natural beauty a short distance away. Yosemite is a national treasure for good reason. :)

Mariposa is a small town, nothing much to see.
Mariposa is a small town, nothing much to see. We stayed there to visit Yosemite. But Mariposa has no mobile coverage, Had we known that beforehand, we'd have stayed in Yosemite village, inside the park, which has good mobile coverage.
Christine, the owner, seemed very sweet and answered all our questions.
The atmosphere of the Little Valley Inn is quite layed back and the cabins are located in a charming spot of nature.
We read about the breakfast, which indeed was really enjoyable and much appreciated.
The place is not very close to the Yosemite Valley main entrance but has the advantage of being closer the Mariposa Grove one. I recommend.
If you want to be spoiled every morning near Yosemite with a top breakfast and a hospitable person who tells you all the do's and don'ts about the area and Yosemite in particular, then this is the place to be. Within the shortest time you are part
of Ruth's family. Wonderful person who runs a top B&B in the middle of nature
The hotel is placed in the center of Mariposa. We could walk to the restaurant or boutiques. The pool is nice and it is hidden from the road. Our room was silent and bed were comfortable. The bathroom was huge and exceeded our expectations. There was some grab and go breakfast.
This place is gorgeous. It’s not the nearest stay to Yosemite but its quality more than made up for it - a few days in the house would make good enough a vacation with your family/partner, with or without the national park.
The breakfast was self service and a good selection of food suitable for everyone.
The hotel is situated within a reasonable drive of both Yosemite National Park village and Mariposa Grove.
