It wasn't noisy like most hotels.

It wasn't noisy like most hotels. The room was fairly cleaned. The mattress was pretty broke down. There was a kiosk with a person to check in and no one reachable for the towels and wash cloths that should have already been in the room until the next morning. With all that said I have to say it was still a good value.

This was actually on Roanoke Island about a quarter of a mile from Fort Raleigh Historical Site and Visitor Center, Elizabeth Gardens, and the Lost Colony. I wasn't really there long enough to see or do much, but Manteo appears to have plenty of restaurants and other attractions. Where I stayed was directly across Roanoke Sound from Nags Head (I could even see it from my rental) which is just a short drive away. I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking to relax at the coast and explore!

    The town was LOVLEY.

The town was LOVLEY. The history is rich and the people were very nice. The whole area is beautiful. There are quirky and unique shops surrounding the waterfront. The food for such a small town had a surprising variety, PLEASE eat at Poor Richard's! A sandwich from them with a view of Albemarle Sound after a day at the Lost Colony site was the perfect afternoon! Getting around is easy, walking is suggested downtown and the historic sites are a very short drive from the waterfront. The Lost Colony site, is free but the Elizabethethan Gardens had a fee. To me it was money well spent. There is also a Freedman's Colony that was a safe haven for freed African Americans after the Civil War. So much to see in such a small area!

Whenever we checked into the Manteo Hotel, the ac was leaking water out into the floor and the room had a bad musty odor to it so we asked to be moved to a different room. They put us in a different room only to be worse than the first. The floors were filthy. They had not been swept or mopped. There was several piles of dog hair underneath the furniture. I had to wipe the floors with a towel to have a clean path for us to walk on. There was a dirty towel left on the back of the bathroom door from the previous person. There was clean towels and the sheets appeared to be clean. Hopefully they were. There is no phone in room to communicate with front desk. They want you to text them. I tried texting them to tell them about the condition of the room and the front desk lady told me she would tell her manager and she would get right back with me. She never returned my text or call. Tried several times again but no one would get back with me. Very poor communication! We had a King kitchenette but it only has a small fridge, microwave and a 2 top burner on the countertop beside the same sink you use to brush your teeth, do your hair and ect. I don’t complain unless it’s pretty bad. We just expect a clean room. The pics I’m showing is the dog hair and the towel I used to clean the floor.

We loved being there for the opening of this year's The Lost Colony at the Waterside Theater. It was a delightful surprise to find that it was also the weekend of Dare Days, and we enjoyed walking through the artists' booths and galleries, listening to the live music, and the presentation by the member of the Aquarium staff who had a display about sharks in children's area. We ran into and enjoyed catching up with some old and new friends. We had a huge and delicious supper at Shaddai, went to see Casablanca at the Pioneer Theater (the oldest independently owned theater in the country and newly renovated), and ended the day singing along with a great couple of performers in the bar in front of Poor Richard's sandwich shop, where we also made some more new friends. Fran's Front Porch helped us start each day of our visit with nourishing pastries, coffee, and hot tea.

    Very historical and scenic area.

Very historical and scenic area. Quiet town with many sites, restaurants, pubs and places to visit...Surrounded by the expansive waterways and protected from the ocean by the Outer Banks, the island views are impressive...very clean air with no unpleasant "low-tide" smells that you can get in other areas sometimes...

I booked and paid online for one night. I checked out the next morning, the lady at the front desk confirmed receipt of our text during check out and the old us we were all set. She then explained that she had “clicked the wrong thing on the computer “, but her boss would fix it. THEY ENDED UP CHARGING US AN EXTRA $140, for no reason. YOU HAF ALREADY PAID FOR THE ROM ONLINE!!! I have been calling the hotel since and have yet to receive a call back!!

No staff-video checkin. Older hotel, flea market furnishings so eclectic. It was clean and functional. Bed wasn’t great but not bad. Exactly what we expected for the price and provided what we were liking for. A clean place to sleep.

This was our first visit to the Outer Banks. The location of the Inn in Manteo is beautiful. Away from the hustle of the tourism in the area yet close enough to enjoy all the OBX has to offer.

It's a very affordable motel (not a hotel!). You get what you pay for. Perfect location to see the village, the sea and dunes, and the Wildlife refuge.
