Shilo Inn Mammoth Lakes, hotel in Mammoth Lakes

Shilo Inn Mammoth Lakes is currently undergoing renovations to better serve our guests and the community. Please note that some amenities may be closed during this time. We are open.

There was no one at the counter and waited 32 minutes for some one to arrive. Everything around the office was a mess. Clothes , food, and no one was to be seen. Dirty floors, construction debris at the entrance, in the lobby , behind the counter, people smoking inside and outside the hotel. Horrible place. Do not go there unless , everything and everyone has been changed.

Outstanding mountain place to visit in early October when Aspen and other leaves turn yellow and orange. Spectacular in sunny weather but also great in rainy weather when the colors turn intense. The best hikes for fall colors are Rock Creek Canyon, McGee Creek, Convict Lake, and Lundy Canyon. There are many other wonderful hikes through the conifer woods with creeks, lakes, and mountain views to suit any distance and level of effort desired.

Mammoth Village is centrally located and easy to bike to.

Mammoth Village is centrally located and easy to bike to. Although not an ideal cycling destination due to the elevation, it is a great place for camping, hiking, and cycling if okay with elevation. The lakes are the highlight of the area.

Area is beautiful, driving around was fairly easy.

Area is beautiful, driving around was fairly easy. Disappointed Devil's Post pile was only open on the weekend and my stay was during the week. Booked the stay six months ago and didn't know that would be the case with seeing this area. There is a very nice Disc Golf course at Shady Rest Park which is nicely kept up and well designed.
