Clarion Hotel Conference Center, hotel in Maggie Valley

This Maggie Valley hotel is 3 miles from picturesque Lake Junaluska and 7 miles from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Honestly, not much. This hotel left a lot to be desired for its price point. We booked it because it was on our way to the National Park. We were passing through after a long day of driving the Blue Ridge Parkway. We wish we hadn't booked here because it was non refundable... I guess a positive was they had a newly renovated lobby...

Its a beautiful area that attracts RV's and Motorcycle enthusiasts in the summer. It's about 23 minutes to Harrah's Casino and pretty much all the services in Maggie Valley are on the main drag. Dining: Country Vittles is by far the best breakfast place I have ever been to. The food looked like a photograph, the service was perfect and two people could have that perfect full feeling for under $20. The Twisted Spoke for lunch or dinner has amazing views and all the food is made from scratch. Another 5-Star place. Legends Sports Bar is more of a local bar but inside its clean, the food is really good, and its a nice place to chill after a long day. Be warned though - their Karaoke Night is LOUD. Area: The is a huge lake just outside Maggie Valley (no way I can type it correctly) which had a boat launch and water activities. Waynesville about 10 minutes from Maggie Valley has a cute trendy Downtown you can walk with all kinds or shops and eatery's. Well worth visiting. Harrah's Casino: I wouldn't recommend unless you just want to check it out. Many tables pay 6-5, minimums are $15-25, lots of gimmick games, a Miller Lite beer is $6, and the ATM Fee is $8.99. The food is overpriced and if you go to gamble, you should always expect to lose. Here, it's just not fun as there is no sense of guest appreciation. Free drinks at tables 1 time maybe every 30 min but no where else. I did like the sportsbook area layout and the staff was friendly. Overall: Beautiful place, super friendly people everywhere we went. The town has a ton of tourist traps to win your money, but that's expected.

    Place was clean.

Place was clean. The place represented as a single stand alone cabin with great view mountains. Not true. The place was attached to other condos /apartments. Nothing going on around there. Boring.

No internet in town, one bar for 5G kept disappearing.

No internet in town, one bar for 5G kept disappearing. Could only use maps or internet on my phone while on a wifi in a lobby of hotel. Hotel’s wifi doesn’t reach the rooms. Restaurants have bad reviews. Food we had for dinner was pretty bad. Breakfast was nice at the breakfast depot. Hotels way overpriced for how they look on the inside. I do not recommend.

One of the few hotels that offer rooms for 5. It's difficult to find such a place for family with 3 teen kids. We called ahead and she was happy to save a roll away for us. Friendly service, nice large room, balcony with river view. Couldn't ask for more for this amazing price. A waffle maker for breakfast would have been icing on the cake, but ya can't have it all.

We love Maggie valley. Have been visiting there for years. Kinda got a lot of business that closed or cut hours a few years back. Some new owners have moved in and things are looking better. R-19 looked like a fun place from the pictures. This statement sums up our experience: wasn't what we expected...glad we booked but will not go back.

Quaint old style motel in Maggie Valley. Staff were friendly during checkin and addressed all my questions. The room was surprisingly large (larger than luxury hotels) with two very comfortable swivel chairs. The rest was neat and on point for the price.
