The 1940's rustic old cabin has lots of charming characteristics sitting right on a small lake. The cabin is clean, private, quiet and very peaceful. The stone fireplace added warmth and atmosphere.
Lubec and Eastport are very quintessential Maine towns.
Lubec and Eastport are very quintessential Maine towns. We recommend going to both of them and also over to Campobello. Chase down the lighthouses while you are at it...you can see the easternmost point of the US at one of them.

Lubec is one of the most beautiful places in Maine.
Lubec is one of the most beautiful places in Maine. We have been here many times before and it never disappoints us. We stayed near Quoddy Head State Park and hiked in the park which was very satisfying.

Lubec is situated next to some of the best seascape vistas Maine has to offer. It’s an unsung Maine gem. You can also spend a day exploring trails and historical monuments near Campobello across the Canadian Border or jump over to bike the exposed sandbar at low tide to Ministers Island, or check out historic Native petroglyphs near Machias. Lubec is a perfect place to situate yourself to do all of these and more. Bikers, Birders, Hikers, Boaters, Writers, Historians, Artists and anyone that wants to be immersed in serene seaside beauty would love this area.

We were there just Monday through Tuesday.
We were there just Monday through Tuesday. There is an excellent brew pub on Main Street that is only open Thursday through Sunday so we missed that, which was sad. Fisherman's Warf was the only restaurant that was open during our stay, but the food was excellent and the service was also excellent. The views of the water and boats was amazing! I love that Lubec is not crowded and the ocean is accessible with walks at Quoddy Head Light House pleasant and include stairs for beach access. Lots of nature to be soaked up and folks who are helpful, but content to let one be. We have been to Lubec often and many times gone on to Campobello. Our grandson, 15, came with us and also had a great time. He found a fabulous little rock shop.
