We were there for the AVCA First Serve Showcase.
We were there for the AVCA First Serve Showcase. Evidently AVCA did a poor job of working with especially the bars and restaurants in the area to prepare them for the huge influx of (especially Nebraska) fans. They were somewhat overwhelmed. We were in the Barrell Bar and as it quickly became evident that the one waitress and cook were not enough an all call must have gone out and more workers soon came hustling in. Great time. Wonderful food and dry.

Louisville is a beautiful city full of hidden gems, but you have to be very aware of your surroundings and the crime in the area your going to.
Almost anyone can tell you about the KY Derby. But, we have so much more here. Like the Louisville Zoo, Speed Art Museum, Louisville Science Center, Louisville Slugger Museum, Walking Bridge from KY to IN (be very cautious at night), Broadrun Park and Splash Pad (a huge park with a toddler section, big kid area and special needs accommodations that attaches to more large parks throughout the suburb part of Louisville), Bermhiem Forest, Fishing Pay Lakes, Walk in Ceramics painting, Bikram Heated Yoga, Mega Caverns, Six Flags, A ton of great restaurants in the Highlands and Frankfort Ave $-$$$, All about kids GYM & SWIM, Breakout Rooms, Indoor Go Carts and so much more.
We also have some old beautiful hotels in like the Galt House which offers a great Christmas Experience
Crime here has continued to escalate. Make sure you read reviews for booking a stay anywhere. Get on fbook and look up what people are saying in local groups. You can literally be in safe spot one min and 2 streets over you will be in a very bad one. Staying right outside the city in Hurstbourne, Jeffersontown, Kentucky Mills Drive, Brooks(city south of Louisville) or even the Raddison right across the bridge in IN will make it quite safer than right in the middle of city.
Watch Air BNBs. Pics here can be deceiving. I met an owner who would not even go to her houses based on safety, but listed the Houses like it was the safest place on earth.
Good luck! We have something here for everyone and every budget

RAN AWAY AND DONT BOOK!!!!! Worst hotel experience.
RAN AWAY AND DONT BOOK!!!!! Worst hotel experience. The hotel smelled of sewage. The room smell liked Body odor. Very unfriendly staff. Kept charging us for night we didn't stay. Very difficult to work with. Very apathetic and uncaring. Wouldn't even look up from there phone to answer questions. Smelled so bad we moved to different hotel and had to go to a local laundromat to wash the smell from our cloths.
DO NOT STAY HERE.

What I liked most was Tammy at the front desk the worst was Brenda and the bugs, mostly the roaches, we actually had one flying around our room the night before last, I was very disappointed actually, figured they would refund me at least one night or even offer to give me a free night but nope, all very rude and unprofessional, i even asked for a refund and she literally said "that's not going to happen!".. horrible customer service, i cannot believe days inn wants that reputation.

Louisville is a nice, southern city with a lot of history!
Louisville is a nice, southern city with a lot of history! So many things to see and do all around the beautiful state of Kentucky! We travelled from Louisville to the eastern part of KY and then back to Louisville for our vacation, and had a terrific time. We saw the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter, which were phenomenal. Then we headed east to the Jenny Wiley State Park Resort and stayed in the lodge there. A week in KY is NOT enough! The state park and resort was like taking a step back in time - everything you. could want was right there - lake and marina, restaurant, hiking trails, and large rooms for reunions or conventions.
Also, did you know that The Grand Ole Opry has a KY counterpart? Nor did I! I would like to check out the Kentucky Opry the next time I go back to Eastern KY. If you enjoy country music, see where Loretta Lynn was born in Butcher Holler, and take the country music highway, ( highway 23) to see how other artists grew up and how this setting inspired their music.
Check out the Mountain Arts Center in Prestonsburg, KY and see some lesser-known Civil War battle sites and remember our history.
Kentucky has so much to see and do, and if you are a horse-lover, it's the perfect place!

The hotel is in a great position. The Car Park is just up the street. Our room was comfortable with great facilities, a very nice room! Everything you would come to Louisville for is within a very short walk from the hotel. We will definitely stay here again!
The Hotel was also an Art Studio and Museum, great atmosphere and staff. Everyone we encountered was helpful and polite. It was a pleasure to stay there.
