Allegria Hotel, hotel in Long Beach

This luxurious oceanfront hotel is 11 miles from John F. Kennedy International Airport. Situated on the boardwalk, it features a seasonal rooftop pool and the L’onda Lounge.

Needed a hotel prior to flight back from JFK. Originally thought of Central New York but this hotel was just perfect! It's the right side for JFK, it's right on the beachfront, it's comfortable, views are spectacular and the staff wonderful. 2 different receptionists (sorry didnt get their names) - friendly and efficient. Restaurant colleague Anny - LOVELY, and Lois - so friendly and willing to try to speak UK english! Great fun Bartender Christian - good service and purveyor of good conversation and local information

I was looking forward to stay in this hotel, the location seemed perfect but there were a few things lacking such us no room service, the food and drinks were just OK. The staff did not seem very happy or welcoming. People working on the rooftop pool were in a rush to leave and I had to almost beg to get drinks. The sheets and tub were dirty! I liked that they had bike rentals and we enjoyed riding on the boardwalk, the hotel provided chairs for the beach but not umbrellas so we had to pay extra to rent them. Unfortunately the hotel did not meet our expectations and I don’t think we will go back again.

Long Beach is getting cleaned up and I was there the 2nd week in August with good weather. I found it to be extremely crowded, Parking was very difficult so I ended up paying 44.00 per night at the overpriced hotel I stayed at. The boardwalk is pleasant and busy. The beach is wide and windy. The ocean had strong surf. It is easy to bike or walk in Long Beach because it is totally flat. If you have a car that's great --- but not if you do not have a parking spot. The LIRR from NYC is convenient. Uber and Lyft do not operate as easily here. It is tricky to arrange transportation to the airports, do that in advance if you need it. My family usually has a reunion here because of logistical considerations --- otherwise, I would never come here. If you want a lovely relaxing natural beach experience, go somewhere else. This is a very citified beach area with bad transportation.

    The restaurant was good.

The restaurant was good. The room was too small tub was filthy, no extra bedding available, no cups no coffee, no fridge, no bed cover on the plastic over mattress, super noisy. We left a night early.

This place was outdated and very old! I will never return.

This place was outdated and very old! I will never return. I even slept in my rented car for a night just to get some sleep. You can hear everything from other rooms. And I do mean everything. The staff was friendly it’s not there fault the place is old. Everything from cracked tiles to holes in the walls. It even smelled like they just poured Lysol on the carpets to cover up the smell of mold.

    Great! Most people are friendly.

Great! Most people are friendly. Some people on the Boardwalk are unexpectedly hostile. The Boardwalk has 3 lanes. The middle lane is for bikes, skateboards, etc. The lane closest to the beach, has people walking East. The lane closest to properties has people walking West. We were walking West in the East lane (Gasp !!!), and were told nastily by runners who had to take a few steps out of their way, that we needed to be in the 'Other' lane. (If we were walking East, they still would have had to take steps out of the way, or they would crash into us, as they were running and we were walking. Their response was very unexpected. We have been up and down Boardwalks along the East Coast, and have never encountered this. [ Maybe just a bit too much OCD, on the part of some runners ... ] )

Near the beach in an area we tought was classy. The only thing classy about this neighborhood was the beach, but it cost a fortune for the family to go there. 15$ per person is crazy. We went to far better places and beaches in Miami and they were free of charge for the public. Long Beach in this area was old and outdated. The hotel old and out of date

The hotel facilities were average. It is very close to the beach and the beach is very good. The staff were very helpful and polite but most of them spoke very little English.

This hotel is subpar at best. The nicest thing about it is the proximity to the beach.
