I would not recommend the weekend after Thanksgiving. The shops were too crowded. There were long lines and wait times for eating in restaurants even if you had a reservation. I finally bought some Christmas presents on Sunday.
The music in the square was good especially with the bavarian horns. Leavenworth should have more shops with the bavarian dressed vendors.

Nice idea, but the town has no authenticity and is just one massive money making tourist trap. The lights are fine, but really not worth a visit. We love Christmas, but there was really nothing of interest for us there.

We've always wanted to go to Leavenworth, especially at Christmas time. The town and surrounding mountains are beautiful. Restaurants have great food options. Would recommend the Nutcracker Museum, Reindeer Farm, Tubing Hill, and the Rollercoaster thing (make reservations in advance). Parking is a hassle, so stay down town and walk to everything if you can.

We absolutely love leavenworth! The nutcracker museum was magical. Largest collection of nutcrackers in the world!!!
Go to munchen haus! It's worth the wait and the line goes pretty fast actually. We'll go there every time we visit Leavenworth!

Leavenworth has plenty to offer throught the difference...
Leavenworth has plenty to offer throught the difference seasons. Christmas time is magical with the lights downtown. The reindeer farm was the highlight of our trip. Summertime offers hiking, and river floating adventures. Shopping all the unique shops is endless fun. We had delicious food at Ludwigs, German sausage and schnitzel. Everything is well organized from many parking lots to easy to read shop and street signs.

There is a toboggan ride at the end of town that we didn't get to try. It was sold out. You can book a ride online. I wish we had known about it. It was not listed in the things to do list I had read. It looked very fun.

Great location with easy walk into Leavenworth. Room was spotless and excellent breakfast. Great pool and jacuzzi. Staff could not be more helpful especially the receptionist. We arrived very early and hoped we could leave our bags and check in later. As our room was free we were offered early check in which helped greatly. Left car and walked into town - well worth a visit
Great location. Hotel is beautiful, room is beautiful and breakfast is fantastic.
Arrived with flat tire on car and front desk staff helped us locate tire store and even tried to phone them for us.
