We are mid range budget travelers and are very happy to have found Old Town Stone House. With its traditional cave suites, perfect location close to restaurants, shops and cafes. Their breakfast spread served on the rooftop is impressive and delicious. We love the open seating deck area where you can watch the hot air balloons flying by
- quite the view and photo opportunity! The owner and staff are amazing. We booked the hot air balloon ride through them and it was perfect.

The house is very comfortable, cozy and set up nicely. It was snowing when we were there, but in good weather there is a lovely back patio area. Not in town, but close enough to walk. The hosts are really nice. We had an issue and they were great about resolving it. We'll stay here again. Thanks!

Leadville offers many basecamp options for exploring the backcountry. Options include camping, hostels, motels. Several excellent restaurants, and there is a Safeway. It is pricey, but you're paying for the location. It is convenient to many trailheads. And there is a bike trail that goes around the town. And if you're inclined, you can catch a train ride.

Leadville is a small town geared toward the outdoor enthusiast. Lacks much else to do and not a lot of options for restaurants. One grocery store town which is very busy with tourists/travelers.

The Railroad, and National Mining Museum are great.
The Railroad, and National Mining Museum are great. Many jeep roads in the area to explore. Aspen, Glenwood Sprgs, Climax and Gilman are close by.
There is a Safeway in town and gasoline is reasonable.

Leadville is a quirky, old town with some good food options.
Leadville is a quirky, old town with some good food options. For Copper Mtn skiers (with snow tires) looking for affordable lodging, it's worth ur consideration. Super convenient to Ski Cooper (10 min or so)
Cozy hostel in good location in walking distance to the center of Leadville. Ideal for everyone enjoying the outdoors. Very clean, very well organized, everything is being explained in detail. Parking available free of charge. Free coffee in the morning. Stayed in a single room with no windows, which was ok for just one night. Shared bathrooms can be somewhat busy. Happy to come back when in the region.
Great location, near Safeway and Bus stop.
Access to Downtown Leadville within walking distance.
Staff worked with us when we arrived early to store our backpacks and to check us in early.
The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. It was a nice change to have some books to read from the hotel library. There is plenty of parking and it was quiet.
