The property was under renovation and the designated parking was 3 blocks away. Booking website did not mention this at all.

Short walk to the Path station and then 15 min into NYC. The walk to the path is well lit, and always had other commuters even late at night. The hotel room was comfortable and clean, and the restaurant was a great place to unwind and have a drink after a day of sightseeing. With the attached parking garage, its the perfect location to stay for a NYC trip without the hassle of having to drive through and find parking in the city.

Very accessible to public transportation, cafes, restaurants. Have a nice piece of view of Manhattan’s side on their reception floor. Very good idea to have a work/dining table and a working kitchen inside the rooms.

This hotel should be 5/5 experience however it is ruined by the quality of the architecture. If you have an adjoining room, you are going to hear everything going on in the room next to you. Even if it’s 4am on Sunday morning and your neighbors decide to blast music at full volume, smoke marijuana, and have loud and aggressive sex up against the door. Security was called to mitigate the situation but nobody arrived. Great hotel, but would not recommend to someone trying to sleep through the night

Being by the harbour side in JC is so relaxing with the best views of Manhattan. Liberty park is close by and there are some excellent places to eat. You could easily stay here and quickly and cheaply get in to NY via the PATH

I found Jersey City to be a very nice area. I walked everywhere and was very safe. There are people everywhere, and I only encountered one man who was having a drug-fueled psychotic episode on the street. So, in comparison to most of Manhattan, JC was very sweet.

Jersey City - I would stay in Newport, Jersey City again.
Jersey City - I would stay in Newport, Jersey City again. I've stayed NYC but would only stay in Jersey City in the future. Jersey City is clean, modern and reflects the calmer side of life rather than getting caught up in the noise of NYC. Great transport links to NYC by PATH, ferry and bus.
The shopping mall had some great restaurants and eateries offering rustic bread sandwiches, salad bowls and ramen bowls.
There's an Indian grocery store on 10th Street offering THE VERY BEST Indian food I've ever tasted. It's a must do while you're in Newport.

We decided to stay in jersey city after a day in New York as it was very quick travel and got us closer to Liberty State Park for the next day. To find a hotel with free parking and access to our car was key. Not having to drag your suitcase down the streets from your payed parking spot was a nice luxury to have. Jersey city is only 6 miles from midtown Manhattan and 6 miles from Liberty state park. After the statue of liberty, Jersey city has a KPot which is a must try or go if you've been before! AYCE!!!!

If you want to visit Manhattan every day the PATH (basically a metro, going to Jersey) is the way to go if you will use public transport.
BUT! If you are a foreigner check first how the foreign credit/debit cards work (or better to say how they are not) with the ticket wending machines.... they are funny things and usually do not accept cash.

We actually visited NYC for most of our stay, but it was a nice convenient option to balance the cost of staying right in the city, and easy access into the city. The people in the area (beyond just the hotel staff) were nice, friendly, and helpful. Enjoyed the stay!

The complimentary breakfast was good, would have liked more mornings with the crispy bacon they had. We still enjoyed the rest of the items on offer. All the staff were super friendly and extremely helpful. The PATH train was within easy reach of the hotel. 15 minute walk. The room was a fantastic size with a large kings size bed which was super comfy, with amazing pillows. A very nice clean shower, restroom with a very large walkin shower.Highly recommend this hotel.
For a visit to NYC as a family of four, we stayed here, with three bedrooms and an open plan kitchen/living area for the same cost of a twin bedded hotel room in Manhattan. Using the HBLR, PATH and subway, we could get into NYC for less than the cost of hotel car parking. The property came with a dedicated parking off-street parking space. The kitchen was properly equipped and clean. The bathroom was in good order and had been recently renovated.
The room was cozy and clean. The hotel is in a very good location, 5 minutes walk to the metro station and shopping center. Staff helpful. There was no problem with changing the room.
Close to Path connection, close to Shoprite (buying food, etc.), close to Airport Newark, Prices compared to hotels in NYC, nice and helpful employees, family rooms
