I came to see the solar eclipse. I inteded to stay in Dallas but my previous reservation with AirBnB was canceled at the last minute.
I didn't find Irving particularly appealing. It's not very walkable, everything is spread out and dispersed. I guess there is a downtown area but I didn't make it there. I walked a considerable distance (about 6 miles roughly in a square) and only encountered small, isolated strip malls separated by long, empty sidewalks.
I did have a good Indian meal at Spices of India.

There was no breakfast at the hotel. In my booking breakfast was included. In my view thats not correct from booking.com to give me a service that does not exist. Im aways looking for breakfast included and would not have choosen this hotel if I would have known that this is not available

Very clean room, decent beds, plenty of towels and pillows, friendly staff, good breakfast (same as other country inns). I love that I can mix my orange juice and cranberry juice. Close to DFW. Good value if u just need a night near the airport. There is a Burger King and mcDs close by but one way streets and construction made it tough to get around.

We made a Houston Astros baseball game at Globe Life Field and that was great. There are many other things to do in the area but baseball games were top on our list. We ate at Dennys and I-hop and both places were great, good food and very nice servers. Traveling around the area was no problem even though it was July 2nd and 3rd. The only drawback was the toll road.

We flew with American Airlines, we were delayed and spent a total of 3 nights in the Irving area but didn't venture out past the airport or the hotel so other than the crappy experience we had with the airport we have nothing to go by.
I will avoid the Super 8 by Wyndham Irving DFW Airport/South at all costs if we are ever in the area again. Worst hotel ever!
The Comfort Suites DFW Airport was the highlight of our stay, highly recommended!

Wonderful breakfast! Bacon, eggs, sausages and lots of pastries. Slept so well here and finished 2 books during my 3 day stay!
Modern decor and clean. The hotel is in good shape and people here respect privacy and that's a bonus when you are reading.
My room was large and comfy and modern, with large windows overlooking greenery and clean streets with no overhead wires. The room also had a fresh vibe and high ceilings that made it ideal for reading!
The bathroom has a fresh feel to it and I liked the feel of it.
Nice big room! Could relax much better than a typical small hotel room. Unexpected booking as connecting flight from Melbourne, Australia to Green Bay, WI was cancelled and rescheduled 24hours later.
