Extremely clean. Even stood up to the black-light test in the room via a black light flashlight that easily illuminates nasty surprises. The room was ABSOLUTELY SPOTLESS. Mattresses comfy…Pillows excellent.

Super cute option if you are visiting the local university or considering wine tasting in the area. I would even stay here if I was in Salem for business, as it's a charming small town and only about 10-15 minutes away.

Excellent, spotless, friendly hotel about an hour/15 min south of Portland. Great location for visiting wineries. Hotel staff was very friendly and the room was very clean, well appointed and very comfortable. You can walk to the little town of Independence and there were many restaurants and cute shops, and a few breweries.
We ate dinner at the hotel one night, and sat with a view of the river, and ate delicious food and drink. Worth eating there. Definitely worth staying at this hotel. We will stay again!

Independence is a small but growing town!
Independence is a small but growing town! The view along the river is beautiful! There is new fun places to have a beverage. Parallel 45 Brewing, Jubilee Champange is fun and nice. It was a great place to take our dogs to walk the river trail!

We loved the lovely greeting when you first walked in and the decor invites the senses in for a relaxing stay. Having the riverfront right outside was wonderful. Also, having a restaurant that was excellent in both service and food quality made for a great stay. It's a small town so getting around is really easy and walkable from the hotel.

Cute little town about two block long, which is easily walkable. I would highly recommend the Pink House Cafe for breakfast and The Naughty Noodle for dinner. Home-made pasta and sauces, including gluten free options, every day.
