Hampton Inn & Suites Imperial Beach San Diego, Ca, hotel in Imperial Beach

Hampton Inn & Suites Imperial Beach San Diego, Ca features an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, a shared lounge and restaurant in Imperial Beach.

The advertising for this hotel is all wrong this is a dog and cat hotel you can bring your pets and the rooms have carpet they shouldn't have carpet. And when you go into the room you smell all the perfumes and air fresheners to hide the smell of pets I immediately turned down went to the front desk and checked out. I love pets but it should really be advertised as a dog and cat hotel so if you go there and you don't have a dog or a cat you're going to smell the smell it doesn't matter how much air freshener you put in their carpets absorb urine.

Well I feel that I was getting spyed on. As I look into detail. My room looked like swiss cheese. Riddled with little tiny holes everywhere. And the television was a fake. Literally. It was made to spy on people. And mock them. As I looked at the television and inspected it. I noticed it was missing a cover on the bottom. I looked inside and looked like some kind of rig.

    Poisonous ocean water and air.

Poisonous ocean water and air. The ocean has been closed to swimmers for over a 1000 days due to massive Humana’s sewage problem. The air at time stinks horribly , and can be full of poisonous gases.

We went for our 30th Anniversary and absolutely loved it...

We went for our 30th Anniversary and absolutely loved it there! We loved walking the beach and the pier. There were people swimming, paddle boarding, and surfing and they were really fun to watch. There were lifeguards making sure things were good and if the waves were dangerous they'd announce it. The restaurant on the pier had great food and we don't even love seafood. We met a lot of really nice people fishing off the pier. They were fun to talk with. There's a cute ice cream shop right by and other restaurants. We thought the location was great and the view and sunsets were amazing! We want to go back!

I love the cool, laid back, family vibe here!

I love the cool, laid back, family vibe here! Beach, pier, restaurants, gift shops all within walking distance to my hotel. Very friendly feel! Felt completely comfortable walking around by myself without fear of bodily harm..hahaha. Sidewalks have beach theme mosaics embedded periodically, benches are surfboards. Weather was much cooler than expected for late July, a nice surprise. Was disappointed that the original Sand Castle event had been severely downsized since I last visited. Fewer competitors in the sand castle competition during this visit, nothing on the beach, no parades or food truck as in the past.

I loved that I can cross the street into the beach and small businesses around and people everywhere, even though some people weren’t that friendly some seemed to make my day with a hello. The front desk also was nice and perhaps the the girl from the day before in the front desk checked me in. It was so cool to put in my last four digits to open the door! I would avoid the parking pass there’s street parking everywhere!

This was the perfect getaway! Location, price, comfort!

This was the perfect getaway! Location, price, comfort! It stayed cloudy and foggy while I was there but just a short drive into la Jolla and the sun came out! It always seems like it's on the verge of raining but I think it's just marine weather. Overall I loved it. Very clean, not crowded, and the ppl we did see were kind and respectful.

For years, it was combo of sleepy and surfer.

For years, it was combo of sleepy and surfer. But now being gentrified, with new brewery, new restaurant and development. Usual plusses and minuses of an ignored corner of paradise being discovered, but think most travelers would find it more appealing now than five years ago. I've stayed on Coronado and in La Jolla many times. Like em both. Imperial Beach is a different vibe and a place that keeps drawing me back. The beach version of your neighborhood bar (if that makes sense).

I would love to recommend this hotel to everyone traveling to San Diego. You will be more than pleased, I promise you. I traveled across the world, but this ll be on the top of the list of best stays/experiences ever. The staff at this property are all fantastic! They was the nicest staff I have ever encountered at a hotel. I can not forget to mention, how amazing it is, to wake up and see the ocean from your balcony.

I moved out of IB March 2024. I used to live a block from this hotel. I selected to stay at Sand Castle for the 4th of July weekend to visit friends and the 4th of July Bike Parade. As well, walking distance to the VFW so we wouldn't have to drink and drive.
