Very Lovely Town Idyllwild, so much to do, eat, see and beautiful natural parks. The Alpaca Coffee and the adjoining restaurant the Mile High were great. Good coffee, beautiful breakfast and great portions. Felt very at home. Fantastic service! We found it easy to get around. We stayed at the Strawberry Creek lodge, however if you book the Idyllwild lodge you are walking distance to art, eateries and many places. Strawberry Creek is nice and has a lovely path below for walking and a cool gazebo.

The town of Idyllwild was lovely.

The town of Idyllwild was lovely. We visited in late June, and it was quite hot. I think I would prefer Fall. The shops seemed authentic, not the same trinket shops you find elsewhere. On Saturday morning we visited a small artisan fair with fabulous things. Worth visiting.

We loved staying at the Idyllwild Inn!

We loved staying at the Idyllwild Inn! We even extended our trip to another day and the service and staff were extremely helpful! We were so close to the main village and the lobby has a folder full of information about nearby restaurants and their menus. We will definitely be coming back and staying here again.

Idyllwild is a delightful mountain town!

Idyllwild is a delightful mountain town! We were there in mid-January with snow covered peaks and beautiful vistas. My friends and I hiked a few miles up Devil's Slide trail and encountered small amount of rain that turned to fluffly, large snowflakes as we reached higher elevation.

Idylwild is the perfect mountain community.

Idylwild is the perfect mountain community. Since there is no ski resort, there is none of the annoying ski-related traffic, just a beautiful, tranquil experience of nature and mountain life. The residents are overwhelmingly friendly, willing to talk to visitors as if they were life-long friends. Many scenic hiking trails for the adventurous, but also many fine restaurants, a world-class brew pub, etc., for those who just want a relaxing stay with great amenities. We were so impressed with the area that we are considering buy a vacation home there.

My husband and I love Idyllwild, but it is a challenge to find things to do for kids, especially disabled ones who can't hike the steep slopes of even the easiest trail, Ernie Maxwell. We found Lake Foster had flat trails and was beautiful, even tho the lake is dry, but signs said "Closed indefinitely" and "No Trespassing". We drove to Lake Fulmor, and although the trails were paved, wide and flat, they were in terrible condition, actually broke a wheel off my daughter's "Upwalker" a mobility device that contains a seat if she becomes too tired to walk. FYI, wheeled mobility devices can go on packed dirt, concrete or asphalt (usually!), but NOT gravel, bark, mud etc. Restrooms not open. Wish there was a swimming spot in Idyllwild.. Both of my disabled kids are expert swimmers. Loved not having to eat out every meal (cabin with kitchen.) All the restaurants in town are very expensive except La Casita. We eat there once every time.

A perfectly peaceful setting and cozy rooms. We got an upgrade so had two rooms instead of one, with fridge and microwave. Sitting on the big porch was shady and cool even in the summer heat, felt like a tree house. Also the pool among trees was a delight. Everything has the old world charme. The manager was extremely helpful and gave us many good suggestions for the facility, hikes and restaurants in Idyllwild. The perfect place to relax and unwind!! Would love to come back in fall or spring.

In the heart of Idyllwild, the cabin was in a quiet but very central area in Idyllwild. The cabin was super cute and had two porch (front and back) to drink your coffee in the morning or have a drink at sunset. The bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean. The kitchen was well supplied with coffee and appliances. The best part was all the carvings made by previous guests on the wooden wall.

We had a great weekend with this hotel! It was perfect! Wooden house with fireplace and everything we need inside! In the forest with Mountain View! The lady on the reception was very helpful and kind! We’re 100% satisfied with our choice and definitely would recommend this place to anyone who wants to come to Idyllwild!

The hotel is located in a perfect area from which you can make beautiful hikes and plenty of parking available. The hotel is recently renovated and looks very up to date, compared to my San Diego hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and in for a nice chat. I definitely try to come back again.

Great location in Idyllwild, super cosy & cute, my cabin at a real fireplace next to the bed so I would say it's a perfect room for a romantic week-end :)
