Great location, plenty of parking. Close to interstate, but quiet! Hotel was clean and front desk staff were very welcoming. Room was clean, not fussy, and well-appointed. Bed was comfortable. Several choices for breakfast.
Kam, front desk employee, was kind enough to come to our room to help with tv.
Hays Regional Airport is 4 miles from this Kansas hotel. Baymont Inn & Suites Hays features a gym and provides spacious, contemporary guest rooms with cable TV with HBO.
Hays is far from being a destination. To my knowledge, there is very little to see as a tourist. The main drag has a standard selection of chain restaurants and amenities, but it is very strangely built with a large number of roundabouts that make the traffic flow feel very strange (and occasionally dangerous when drivers are unsure how to navigate them). The tap water is unpleasant to drink and shower in, in my experience.
I believe people primarily target Hays as a midway resting point on roadtrips across KS, and for that purpose it's perfect and convenient. It feels very clean and safe, and people are generally very friendly. It has worked well on a few occasions for me to spend just one night but I wouldn't recommend any more time than that.

Not the experience I expected.
Not the experience I expected. The employee who checked us in was using her phone to text, scroll social media or something before I even stepped away from the counter. The room was ridiculously small. The refrigerator was not cold. There was only one employee available in the morning to manage the food for the guest breakfast and handle check-outs. Regretting that we did not drive further to find a Hampton Inn.

Nice small town off of beaten path with any amenities you may need. Great restaurant and ale house 'Rail Shake' had excellent food and spirits along with friendly and helpful staff. Easy to navigate around town. Only 1 'Hotel' found though a few BnBs; did not check AirBnB due to last minute reservation.

We didn't even stay at Hampton Inn, but no one will listen!
We didn't even stay at Hampton Inn, but no one will listen! Not booking.com, not Hampton Inn. We paid almost $200 for a room that we didn't stay in. What was falsly advertised was a hotel with a pool. We booked the room with full intention of using the pool, it was our main deciding factor in choosing a room. We got there and the pool was closed for cleaning, on a Friday! Isn't that the busiest day for travel? Anyway, no big deal, there are other hotels we can stay at to swim. The front desk lady didn't know what to do as far as cancelling or rescheduling our stay. I've written in, but no one has written back.

All folks I met in Hays were pleasant, friendly and helpful.
All folks I met in Hays were pleasant, friendly and helpful. Whiskey Creek had great food. Public library is excellent. Great architecture around town. Police are on the job - visible - there to help and serve. Hotels on North side of town are more expensive; yet, I understand from Linley at Whiskey Creek that those Hotels are worth the price. He specifically recommended the Avid, where he had stayed when he first relocated to Hays. Linley is an excellent human being and a great server, too! Folks in the stores were nice. I also like Hays' proximity to Salina and Junction City, KS - two other areas I enjoyed on my trip from East to West. I also applied for an apartment rental. I'm retired! Thanks to all.
A nice hotel in a good area. The staff were very pleasant and the beds were comfy. The salt pool was great, but supposed to be heated and wasn't, so we didn't stay in long! The shower was great and the hotel provided shampoo/conditioner etc.
Breakfast was nice but fairly limited and checkout was easy!
A nice little place
This place was great. It was newly refurbished, very clean and appointed with everything we needed. The breakfast was amazing with southwestern omelets and wonderful potatoes etc. We had been traveling across the US and this was our best hotel!
