Carolina, the host, was warm, welcoming, and willing to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Though she offered, we declined the breakfast (even the free one the first day), as we rarely eat breakfast as long as we have coffee available, which we did. The French press coffee available in the outdoor kitchen was what we use at home and was very tasty. Carolina offered raw goat's milk, but we bought half and half at the local gas station/mini mart, as that is what I was used to. The outdoor covered sitting area was comfortable and a great place to read a book or check my emails and texts, thanks to the WiFi and comfy seating. The weather was good - warm with a lightly cool breeze.
The bed in the cottage has a comfortable mattress, plenty of pillows and light blankets (perfect for the temps in Naalehu). I'm an animal lover and my favorite are goats, so I was delighted to see one nearby when I left the cabin in the morning. And the chickens with their little chicks and the friendly dogs gave this place a "homey" atmosphere. And finally, for us, the location is ideal. We own a home that is vacant and for sale in Discovery Harbour, so this cabin was within walking distance to that, and is why I chose the cabin on Booking.com.

Exceptional rental with super kind host, very clean, beautiful frog sounds to fall asleep, beautiful location, all utilities necessary were there including clean drinking water. Wish we could have stayed even longer!

Beautiful and peaceful. Impressed that it is a green property which truly got power and water from the sky. Jim was extremely accommodating. Not only was he knowledgeable regarding activities around the island, he provided snorkels, fins, masks, boogie boards, coolers and beach chairs. I discovered the long board too late in my trip to take advantage so we'll just have to make another trip. Got to meet Mojo but didn't get to meet Jen as she worked a lot. Met a lot of geckos tho and I miss them already! Don't miss the Punalu'u Bake Shop which is on the way to Volcanoes National Park. Yummy!
Troy is a great host! He provides so much during the stay and is wiling to help with whatever you need and checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed in our room. Accommodations were great and the property is in a beautiful location. He also offered us suggestions on things to do and see and where to eat! Great host and gets 100% from us on our stay.

Very comfortable bed!
Very comfortable bed! Host thought of everything, luxury towels, bath robes, slippers, sand free beach towels, snorkel gear, BBQ grill, Lots of privacy, a welcome book with lots of info for local dining, beaches, etc. The ATV tours are incredible, and easy to drive. Best excursion we ever took. We will be back.

The coffee left in the freezer was 3/4 gone, absolutely touch and used by others.
Body wash in the very small shower was also used by others.
Only 1 towel rake for drying bath towels.
1 portable fan for 2 bedrooms!
We could not even sweep the floor which was so dirty we had to wear our shoes. Concrete floors are cold and hard to keep clean!

This is probably the nicest accommodation we stayed at in Hawaii. Our host was amazing, the place is super clean, spacious and has all the amenities we needed (including and awesome outside hot tub!), I honestly could not have wished for anything better!
