At first glance, Hattiesburg doesn’t seem to offer much.
At first glance, Hattiesburg doesn’t seem to offer much. But, look again, there’s a nice zoo with a water park, museums, and other stuff. The food is usually great and has that homemade quality. The traffic is nonexistent so, that’s a plus.

It had the feel of a quaint, little town. We were located jus a few blocks from the historic downtown district. Decorated for Christmas added to the charm. We though it was adorable. I wish we had been there on a business day instead of a Sunday so we could explore the shops.

Easy access to highway, plenty of nice places to eat and dine as well as shop. I didn't like that they didn't have a Krogers and had to drive 25 minutes to another town nearby for a Krogers. Didn't get to experience any attractions because we were there for a leadership conference so there was no time for leisure.

Hattiesburg is So charming.
Hattiesburg is So charming. It’s been about ten years since I’ve spent time here, and things have improved and aged gracefully. There are more locally owned restaurants in Hattiesburg than any other city in MS and you can explore Very affordable delicious food choices on every corner. Highly recommend going downtown to Southbound Bagel and The Pocket Museum which is free and fantastic. The zoo has had a huge renovation and has a splash pad, adult beverages, and so much fun for the kids. Also, so adorable!

I work in the oilfield and on standby days I usually stay in Hattiesburg or Laurel, both places are great. Didn't really have time to explore the area, but my family would like to come with me and spend a few days here. Would definitely recommend visiting.

I grew up in Hattiesburg and was there for a high school reunion, which was SO much fun that I wanted to stay longer. In addition, I am a double alumna of the University of Southern Mississippi, so being near the campus always gives me a warm feeling.

There was a very nice breakfast in the morning. And in the evening there was a peanut butter sandwich that you could fix but there were children cutting up and messing up the dining room when I would have liked to make a sandwich so I was unable to benefit from this "bonus".
Easy access to main highway. Close to many restaurants and stores for shopping.. Breakfast was good. Had nice selection. Breakfast included oatmeal, cereal and milk, bacon and eggs, sausage, and fruit. You could also make a waffle if you wanted to.
