Loved the central reception, lobby and lounge areas.
The wrap around outdoor seating with hidden speakers created a great atmosphere, along with the contemporary planting and secluded bocci area.

We loved meeting several couples on the porch on a rainy night. In the rocking chairs meeting new friends for life. Ended up enjoying a day together with one of the couples at Mackinac Island. Then another day with another couple by driving to their home in Wisconsin fro their invitation. Friends now for life with two of the couples from a rainy night that kept many at the Stafford's Inn on the porch enjoying conversations from people from any different walks in life.

Perfect location to access the greater Petoskey area. Have stayed many times, upper floor in the back, and the property is always quiet, clean, and the staff is friendly. Prices are high in the summer but this hotel is often the best deal.
This Petoskey, Michigan hotel is minutes from the Bay Harbor Marina District and Petoskey Plastics Headquarters. The hotel offers a free breakfast and free high-speed internet access.

For my own purposes the location was superb.
For my own purposes the location was superb.
Only 4 miles away from Ski locations and 1-5 miles away from several upscale restaurants. Did not use the gym nor the swimming pool ( too tired ) The breakfast area is small barely adequate for the size of the hotel . Expect good and variety of items but not upscale breakfast .

The room was very clean.
The room was very clean. The bathroom area was huge with a jetted tub and lots of counter space with a long mirror. My room had a large closet and a couple of chests of drawers for your personal belongings. My room overlooked the pretty courtyard and pool. I didn’t use the real wood fireplace.
I wish it had lamps by the bed. The light switches were across the room from the bed. I left the tv on so I could turn off the lights. I was in room 14. The main doors were glass-paned French doors with sheers hanging on them. Room 14 needs more privacy with the French doors. I didn’t get to eat breakfast due to my schedule, but it was in the main building. It was a great stay other than the privacy issue. The other rooms I saw had solid doors for their main door.

Couldn’t stay in the room.
Couldn’t stay in the room. It smelled like urine very strong outside the door and had a similar scent inside, (and musty) like Lysol spray throughout. One of the comforters was very dirty. The lady at the front desk was nice. But if you are looking to save money, don’t. Pay a little extra and go somewhere else.

The room design was gorgeous. We loved the bed, bathroom, and small touches throughout the room that made it feel like a nice getaway and not just a hotel room. We also loved that the outdoor pool and hot tub were still open even though it was the off season. So nice to take a dip in a heated pool.
