Very comfortable and homey facility with friendly and knowledgeable hosts. We appreciated the cleanliness and attention to detail that was paid to converting an old barn into a B&B. The room was comfortable and well appointed with good sound-proofing.

Cute downtown with lots of restaurant options. At the base of Keuka Lake, which is home to some excellent wineries and breweries. For those with an interest in history or aviation, the Glenn Curtis Museum is a don't miss.

The community is so wonderful the people including the group of teenagers at the corner store were all so friendly and talkative. You could talk to anyone you seen and they welcomed the conversation. I will be back very soon. I’ve fallen in love with Hammondsport.

Interesting little town, a half-mile off the main road is centered around a village square with a variety of restaurants, antique stores, a couple of liquor stores with local/area wines, a grocery store and so forth. The top attraction, in our opinion, is the Glenn Curtis Museum which contains a number of early (mostly reproduced but accurate and interesting) flying machines, Curtis memorabilia, vintage motocycles, a selection of early auto, and an assortment of historic area objects. A more than an hour-long film provides an excellent story of Curtis and his struggles and accomplishments. This museum made the visit to this quaint village worth the time and effort.

Hammondsport is a lovely small town on the shore of Lake Keuka. We visited in the fall; we wanted to see the Finger Lakes area and having previously seen Kitty Hawk, we were interested in the Curtiss Museum. The museum alone was worth the trip. It has a vast collection of Glenn Curtiss “inventions” from bicycles to war planes.

We sat by the lake in a sweet park where there were plenty of lifeguards for the swimmers. We sat on a nice bench by a tree and enjoyed looking at the lake. Met a nice local who told us about some places to eat. We highly recommend a visit to the historic and beautiful winery called Pleasant Valley Wine Company. Our tour was led by a young man who is from the area and really cares about the significance of the winery and its history. It is like a step into a winery in old Europe. We then did a wine tasting which was presented beautifully at a nicely appointed table in the very informative Visitors Center. Next we strolled through the gift shop and purchased two of our favorite of the wines we had tasted. This winery is located very close to the village center.
