Clarion Hotel & Suites Hamden-New Haven, hotel in Hamden

The 100 percent nonsmoking Clarion Hotel & Suites is located off Merritt Parkway (Route 15) and Interstate 95, just five miles from New Haven.

Booked trip because of family members terminal illness. Within 1 hour of booking rec'd call he had passed. Called, emailed Booking.Com to cancel no response to date and called front desk which told me nothing they could do. Since nonrefundable went to Clarion/Hamden absolutely uninhabitable!!!! Besides the fact that it is a Section 8 Housing facility. You should be ashamed!!!

Best Western Plus North Haven Hotel, hotel in Hamden

Just off motorway I-91, 12 minutes’ drive from Yale University, this North Haven hotel offers free WiFi. An indoor swimming pool and a 24-hour fitness center are also provided.

It’s a basic hotel that met a specific need. The side door didn’t lock, but I wasn’t afraid / unsafe.

The hotel is not in a good location, the room was not clean...

The hotel is not in a good location, the room was not clean and the curtains were ripped. The bathroom had mildew in the shower and couldn't be used. The breakfast area was filled with either section 8 or homeless people stocking up food for the day. We were very uncomfortable there and will not be returning to this location. BEWARE!!!!

Room was reconfirmed one hour before our arrival.

Room was reconfirmed one hour before our arrival. It was not available when we arrived at 945 pm. Since this was Yale convocation week it was very difficult to find a room. We did eventually find a room at USD 364 per night in Orange, CT. We also had several Uber rides due to this mix-up which the host blamed on booking.com. I feel we should be compensated for the extra cost, and the money we paid for the room should be returned. The host said it would but other than that offered an apology.

The room was very run down.

The room was very run down. There were white patch work on the walls, my shower did not work and the room smelled like marijuana. The power went off at midnight for 6 minutes and the fire alarm went off early in the morning about 8am. Sadly, I left at 9am and did not return. I called that evening and told them I would not be returning even though I wasn’t due to check out until the next day. I booked another room on Priceline. The area and hotel looked quiet when I arrived but became very transient with questionable loiters around 10pm. It was very noisy outside of my room from the hallways with people hollering and letting others in from the side door.

The guest room exceeded expectations, I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy it. The breakfast was excellent. There was plenty of room to meet in the lobby with my friends who were also along for the trip, staying in separate rooms. The shower in the bathroom was great. The kitchen was amazing and had anything one would need to cook with. Residence Inns cannot be beat by other similar hotels. I am a superfan.

The breakfast was better than most hotel / motels I've been to. The hotel was close to where we needed to go. Next door to AAA, very close to the highway.
