    Gonzales is a charming town.

Gonzales is a charming town. I was a vendor at the Come and Take It celebration, and would highly recommend Gonzales as a destination for anyone interested in Texas history. The Chamber of Commerce is very helpful and provides recommendations for travelers based on their interest. The Jail Museum Director was also helpful and is very knowledgeable about the area. The Come and Take It Celebration was a great event, and had activities to meet everyone’s interest!!

Wonderful town, typical of south central Texas. My favorite restaurants were the Stock Yard (especially for breakfast) and a delightful TexMex restaurant in town center. The mariachi music on Friday evening was a pleasant surprise. Love this town!!

Loved driving through the country side made us long for a piece of land to call our own, we talked about it, as we drove enjoying the beautiful scenery. Oh um YUM! We ate delivery from La Bella Tavola Italian Grill & Pizza, I had the chicken parm and my husband had the philly cheese-steak, oh, get in my MOUTH! It was good and I still have some leftovers. I think they used doordash, it was quick, easy and fast. Gonzales was easy on the GPS, easy to find what we needed and where we needed to go. We left early in the morning so the low fog was a bit thick, oh... and dont go to the Best Western Inn & Suites in Gonzales. Decent rooms/Bad management.

    We enjoyed our visit.

We enjoyed our visit. The trip was for her to see some Texas History. Which we did. The two museums were very interesting and we were well informed by the people at the museum's and even townspeople about more of the history. My granddaughter did learn alot of good Information, and we both had a wonderful time.

Gonzales is a small town (pop 7,200) with big history (the first shots of the Texas Revolution were fired here). There are many fine mansions, mainly along St. Louis and St. Lawrence streets. Information on walking and driving tours is available at the Gonzales Museum -- which has a great collection of military and household artifacts. It is home of the famous (and surprisingly compact) "Come and Take It" cannon. Good downtown dining venues are on the square. Prices are much more reasonable than you'll find in Hill Country venues. There's also a theater and capacious antique/junk shops. For an afternoon treat, try Sweet B's selection of ice cream and cupcakes.

Location and price were spot on. There were a lot of workers/ laborers staying at this hotel so it's quiet at night. The staff was very friendly.

Not so bad. Hotel is under renovation. No closet or closet rod to hang clothes. The cost should reflect that.
