Only thing they had was cold cereal and waffle, you had to use plastic cups for coffee, people next to us were loud slamming doors in and out of their room until 2 in the morning. They charged us more for the room than what we were quoted.

Was a very nice town and definitely the perfect location if you are going to Scotts Bluff National Monument. Only a couple of miles from the park. We went out several different times of the day and was there in just minutes. We ate at a restaurant called the Log Cabin and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend.

This area is great to learn about how our country expanded and the hard working and courageous people who helped settle it. The countryside is very different from the East and Midwest. Some of the views from bluffs and hillsides is expansive.

Our trip to Gering was wonderful.
Our trip to Gering was wonderful. We found a retirement village called Heritage Estates. We plan to move as soon as we sell our house. Our favorite tourist attraction was Legacy of the Plains. Our favorite place to eat was Romas Italian Restaurant located at the airport. Second would be Wonderful House. It is very easy to get around Gering. There is nothing we would avoid.

I actually spent more time in Scottsbluff; the two towns are literally separated by railroad tracks. This trip was to visit someone in the hospital, BUT, I have been there before, and I should mention that the Scottsbluff monument is great to see. If you like hiking, it is beautiful. They have a neat place to see the Oregon Trail.
Because of the experience at the hotel, I checked out and went to the Hampton Inn and I had a great room, good breakfast, and it was a much better location.

The little town of Gering was fine.
The little town of Gering was fine. The Balloon National Fest was a Big disappointment. One evening event. Area too small
for the number of balloons which was about 1/4 of total ones there. Would not go there for another one.

Centrally located in the panhandle of Western Nebraska on the North Platte river. Great place to explore the Oregon and Mormon trails. Located on major US and state highways. Good lodging and dining opportunities.

Stayed for one night to visit Scottsbluff Monument. This hotel was very conveniently located nearby. There room was pleasant, as was the breakfast, and there was a nice place to sit in the lobby with a coffee machine.
A warm welcome and we were very impressed with the verbal information and the wonderful hotel brochure which was in our lovely king room. We were even given bottled water for the onward journey.
