Location was great, close access into the Park, got to enjoy several Elk that grazed on the Hotel's front lawn. Guy at the front desk gave good recommendations for dinner.

Both of the front desk clerks that we met were super friendly and helpful. The location was great (close to Yellowstone, restaurants, and walking distance to a grocery store). They had clean, comfortable rooms, with a full kitchen, and the river access was great too. We even saw elk walking down the street right by the hotel, which was fun to see. We'd definitely stay here again.

It was wonderful that they had such a nice selection at breakfast. And the location was only a quick walk to the downtown and also convenient to hiking and geyser basin experiences in the National Park.

The inn is located near Yellowstone NP but just outside of Gardiner in such a peaceful and beautiful location and wildlife literally right at your door! Breakfast was delicious, views were stunning and the rooms were immaculate! The owners truly care for their guests and go the extra mile with service!

It was cozy & rustic. Very clean & excellent staff.
most of the restaurants shut down for off season. The food at the Cowboy's Grill was horrible and made my husband sick. Like they never cleaned their grill. Were very disappointed. The waitress was nice. The wildlife viewing in Gardiner was amazing. When we woke up in the morning there were elk all around our room and in the neighborhood. Loved the Yellowstone Hot Springs at Gardiner.

We visited the last week of their travel season in September so many restaurants and businesses had already closed, others were running low on items so menus were limited to a few items. Gardiner, however is a great area to see wildlife with easy entry into the northern part of Yellowstone National Park. I would certainly recommend, however might consider a different week if you’re looking to enjoy fully all they have to offer before the season ends.

Small town atmosphere with elk occasionally wandering the streets. Lots of restaurants but some were not great. The one that was recommended was packed on a Sunday night so we did not get to try it. Some shops to wander into. Fast way to get into Yellowstone and a more interesting drive than from West Yellowstone.

This was our second visit to Gardiner.
This was our second visit to Gardiner. We prefer Gardiner to West Yellowstone as a base to visit YNP because it is less crowded, less touristy, and overall more pleasant. It has all the basic amenities one might need during a visit to the park.

Entrance to Yellowstone. Wildlife. Easy walking around town. Not many sit down restaurants that have full meals with vegetables, but that is just my opinion. Did have several food trucks and limited menu restaurants.

We walked all over Gardiner as it is a very small place. Paradise Deli made great sandwiches. The Gardiner Market has everything you need (almost!) so we went there almost daily. Hot coffee and hot breakfast sandwiches were a hit in our family. There were lots of great little shops for gifts and coffee - plus the Roosevelt Arch which is cool to check out. Lots of elk wander through the town - especially in early morning. Plus, the Yellowstone River runs right down the middle of the town. It is such a cool place to check out.

Everything about Yellowstone Big Rock Inn was just perfect! The location is great, we walked into town each night which is just a short 15 min walk away. The room was so spacious and comfortable, the team were so welcoming and helpful and we loved the ice machine! Highly, highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Gardiner :)
