Museums very interesting and staff very knowledgeable.

Museums very interesting and staff very knowledgeable. Joni guided us and gave us a lot of information. Miss Laura’s Visitor Center is a very interesting place. It was a great little stop off point for us while heading toward Arizona. Ate at Anna’s restaurant. Good food.

We stayed one night at the Grand Mansion, Our room was very nice. It looked like a bed & breakfast place at one time but it isn't that now. Easy access to lots of restaurants and stores, We ate at Texas Roadhouse, which was very good. The next morning we ate at the Calio Cafe and it was excellent. Enjoyed the United States Marshal Museum before leaving town.

    Lots to do.

Lots to do. The US Marshals museum is cool, lots of antique stores, the historical site was very interesting, some good restaurants are in the area, and we liked being close to the Arkansas River. Would've liked to do the art museums ... next time.

While we were traveling through, I chose the Fort Smith location as a stopover point based upon mileage traveled. Our accommodations were in the city and as we learned, the free parking in the area was somewhat limited. The outside eating establishments were several city blocks away. No problem for us, but those with mobility issues may want to consider the many properties we saw on the outskirts of the city.

    Adventure awaits.

Adventure awaits. Lots of history to experience and great scenery. Getting around Fort Smith is not complicated at all and is a breeze once you get a feel for the lay of the land. Lots of great places to dine that are easy to locate.

We were only there for one night on a cross country trip, but as we drove out I saw many places I would have liked to stop and explore, especially in the downtown and riverfront areas. There were numerous entertainment/restaurants/shopping areas that might have been fun had we had time.

Check in was very easy. Rooms were clean. Would stay there again. We were there on the 4th of July. This hotel is in walking distance to the River Park so we were able to walk to the park and to watch a great fireworks display.
