We were there for my husband's memorial service in a nearby church. So, we didn't do much sightseeing. However, the whole area, once you get away from the motel/restaurant area, is very pretty. I would like to come back and just spend some time there.

Proximity to the Asheville airport was important as I had a 7:20am flight back home.
The location allows for easy access to Asheville without being in the midst of what are often congested roads.
Also, access to areas north of Asheville are easier because you can access roads that bypass the most congested parts of the downtown area.
The prices for the same hotels tend to be less expensive here than in Asheville, at least for my trip this weekend.

I attend a large annual event in the area with many participants fighting for hotel room space. At another location I have stayed in in the past, the ice machine was empty and could never recover from the demand. This location has ice machines on each floor (not a single large ice machine) and it was terrific to have ice available.
The hotel and room was comfortable, the swimming pool was situated outside the rooms. The managers went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and arranged a shuttle driver to take me to the airport.. All of the staff did absolutely exemplary work..
The exquisite service provided by the hotel solved a transportation problem we had to reach our meeting beyond we could expect.
The hotel offered to take us at no cost to the destination
Nice, clean and modern hotel with close access to AVL Airport. Great for an over night if you have one of those extremely early flights. Shuttle to airport runs regularly and on time.
