I thought it was ok until they accused us of smoking in the room and refused to refund our $100.00 incident deposit. I will NEVER stay there again or recommend them. What they did is bullshit and considered theft.

Nice quiet US country town dating back to 1788 with many historic buildings and landmarks, tasty and quirky food shops with a great museum and aquarium as well as nearby access across the Mississippi River to Illinois and Wisconsin.

We loved our short trip to Dubuque!
We loved our short trip to Dubuque! The Fenelon Elevator is so cheap to ride and such a cool history, beautiful architecture, Eagle Point is a fun hike, the River Museum was HUGE, we could have spent all day there!

The concert I attended was amazing.
The concert I attended was amazing. My car getting hit while it was parked was not so amazing. People in Iowa have no idea how to drive. It's like they get their drivers license from a cereal box.

Dubuque offers a unique blend of historical charm, natural beauty, and modern amenities. The city is easy to navigate. We loved Habits Coffee & Mini Donut Co. It is a perfect place for avid sports fans. We took in a college basketball game during the day and a Fighting Saints hockey game in the evening.

Beautiful hilly city. Excellent places to eat.
Beautiful hilly city. Excellent places to eat.
A very 1930's vibe. Wonderful brick buildings along the Mississippi. Very little modern development.
Due to the hilly terrain, Dubuque was the first city in the country to have cable TV. You will not see a TV antenna. The Stallone movie F.I.S.T., based in the 30's, was filmed in Dubuque because of that and the buildings.
Having said that, it is HILLY. Driving can be very intimidating. A few times the view reminded me of San Francisco.
Take it slow and fire up that navigation app.
You'll do fine.

Dirty rooms. Caulking that was really dirty in bathroom.
Dirty rooms. Caulking that was really dirty in bathroom. Toilet made loud noise when getting up. Husband said toilet was not level. Bugs in the room. Thick dust in the vents. My stay was really disgusting in the room. Would not recommend anyone staying in that dirty environment. After that experience we stay the rest of our trip in Best Westerns which we had a very good experience. Before Dubuque we stayed in only Wyndhams rewards rooms but we didn’t after the Days Inn experience.

See reviews by guests who stayed at hotels in Dubuque
Walking into the beautiful home, being greeted by Robert, with never-ending first class hospitality, along with the comfort and history was beyond all expectations. Breakfast was truly the 'frosting on the cake.' Robert was so kind to take the time to share the history of the home, and the family, with us. This was our first trip to Dubuque, but would not even consider looking elsewhere to stay if we get to Dubuque again.
I liked that there was a lot of area for parking. I also enjoyed the size and cleanliness of the room I booked. The hotel was very clean and welcoming.
