It was cold!! We went in January so that is expected. The ride from the airport was about 30 minutes by ride share. There was a car show a few 100 feet from the hotel we stayed at, and although it was kind of basic for being in the Motor City, it was still a good car show. I do love that Detroit is in a Renaissance because it is a beautiful city with magnificent architecture. The people we met from Detroit were mostly friendly and welcoming. We attended a Lions game and were there supporting the opposing team. There were no issues and it even made for a great conversation starter. I'd go back!!

If you love New York City but are a little tired of the swarming tourists and insane traffic, visit Detroit. Downtown is wonderful, with great shops and restaurants, a vibrant street scene with pedestrians and musicians, world class museums, and amazing architecture. Don't miss the lobby of the Book Tower or Michigan Central Station.

    Hadn't previously visited Detroit.

Hadn't previously visited Detroit. Attended a great concert at the Fillmore, ate at Mom's Spaghetti, toured the Motown Museum, and more. If you like corned beef, you must visit Lon's! Highly recommended. I'll return for another visit.

Detroit is my home but I have lived on the west coast for many years. It was wonderful to see how the city has bounced back and there is so much to do there. Corktown, Greek town, waterfront restaurants and different venues featuring celebrations for Thanksgiving was great.

Took my sister visiting with me and my husband on a tour starting at the Riverwalk. She was stunned as to how beautiful Detroit is. The neighborhoods we drove through enabled her to discount all the negative information she read about and seen by the media. Many pictures were taken to share with other residents in California.

The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village were outstanding. The Detroit Institute of Art was a big surprise. It is huge with amazing pieces. The Industrial Murals by Diego Rivera were a favorite of mine. The Motown Museum was fully booked , but people say it’s wonderful. The restored Union Station didn’t open until 5:00, so we couldn’t see it.

Breakfast was great, high quality ingredients. Mattress and pillows were firm and supportive and plenty of covers for figuring out how many worked for us. Staff were friendly and professional. Pool room was so fun, and it felt like we had the hotel to ourselves! Gym and hot tub also great.

We enjoyed the art. It was very eclectic. We were glad we stayed here as it gave us an insight into some of Detroit's neighbourhoods that we wouldn't have gotten if we had stayed downtown.
