Loved our stay here. Nice rooms, clean and well presented. Close to Main Street, maybe 10-15 mins walk or the Deadwood Trolleybus stops right outside and takes you down for $2. Good breakfast next door at the Miner Diner. Good value place to stay, highly recommended.

We thought Deadwood would be more quaint and authentic but unfortunately, it is very touristy and commercial. Heavy emphasis on gambling and slot machines. Fortunately, we found two good restaurants in town but everything else looked like pretty average fair food wise. Lots of drunk people wandering the streets at night. Not sure why families would visit here? Legends Steakhouse and Jake’s were both excellent!

Deadwood itself was ok but a little too “Las Vegas” for me. I did not go there to gamble but it seems that is what they are now known for. Even the downtown area lost its flavor of the old west because of the large resorts that took over! So sad!

The only issue with our trip was that we did not realize the motor cycle rally was so close to our trip date. We had no issues the the motor cyclists, there were just a lot of them which made parking in Deadwood a little hard and at times very loud.

    Deadwood is a great place.

Deadwood is a great place. It is a good central location for lots of things. Hiking, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Hill City, Custer, Needles highway. The town itself is fun for a day. But some great food

It's a very cute and rich little rural casino town.

It's a very cute and rich little rural casino town. The buildings are great, the restaurants are nice, there are nice things you can do besides - instead of, actually - gambling. It's very lively in the summer packed with the typical obnoxious and desperate casino crowd. The George S. Mickelson bicycle train starts here, and this part of the trail is gorgeous - which is why we came. There are some other very nice small towns in the area so you can explore multiple days. The absolutely magnificent Custer State Park, Mt. Rushmore, the Crazy Horse memorial, and lots of entertainment is within reach from here, although there are more convenient places for visiting them (we stayed in the State Park lodge for most of our visit). Hill City and Custer are nearby cute towns. Lots of hiking and other activities nearby.

Loved it. Little bit of Nashville with SD feel.

Loved it. Little bit of Nashville with SD feel. Steak at the Mineral palace was very good. Restaurant decor upstairs was lacking. Latte's at Pump house. We were there 2 weeks before Sturgis rally. Good motorcycle buzz yet, able to get around and see everything without large crowds.

Good price.for Deadwood, it's right at the end of the hotels, about a mile walk to downtown, which wasn't a problem for a good choice of restaurants and bars. There was a covered carpark.

Great hotel in the centre of town but not noisy. Could walk to everything. Break fast was good but would like some healthy choices like cereal, or yoghurt.
