Great location, easy to find. Greeted with a genuine smile, which unfortunately is rare these days. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and interacted playfully with my toddler. Access was great, room was gorgeous, clean, and fresh. Wonderful waterfront view. Wish we could have stayed longer.

The innkeeper was so incredibly warm and welcoming and had obviously spent a significant amount of time, energy and though into room's theme. He was also an excellent source of information for dining recommendations!

Beautiful area, great for photos with dog friendly beaches.

Beautiful area, great for photos with dog friendly beaches. Access to ocean and bay areas for boating, paddle board and kayaking. We were house hunting and it was easy to get around. There are plenty of places to eat that are not fast food, lots of seafood and a good variety of fast food places.

This location is perfectly remote and quiet with amazing lighthouse, beach, and ocean views. The rooms are large and the home is very comfortable and livable. The property has its own stairway to the beach. It’s 59 stair steps to the beach and the staircase is in excellent condition. The beach was very nice with plenty of places to view starfish and other marine life at low tide. This home is not fancy and this made us feel very much at home. We all were sad to have not been able to stay longer.

    We enjoyed the nearby casino.

We enjoyed the nearby casino. The motel breakfast was nice, with yogurts, juices, cereal, coffee…. We went to a nearby restaurant, “So It Goes Coffeehouse” and enjoyed their breakfast. We also had a great dinner at the casino! Our favorite stop this trip!

Uncrowded spectacular landscapes with friendly people.

Uncrowded spectacular landscapes with friendly people. The weather is a little cold all the time, like San Francisco weather so a good escape during increasingly hotter summer months. I wish there were more nice hotel choices available. .

I left a previous rating but when it was posted, it was changed so I’m back to try to correct it. Best Western Coos Bay advertised as a Hotel when in reality it’s a Motel, be honest when advertising. Also, it’s close to busy Hwy 101 the traffic was LOUD even with windows closed. The bed wasn’t very comfortable, the sink faucet leaked when turned on and the toilet tank made noise for about 30 minutes after flushing. There isn’t enough parking spaces vs rooms so when we returned to retire for the night, we couldn’t find an available parking spot and had to ask the office for permission to park in a handicap spot. While breakfast is nice, it doesn’t change so it was eggs, sausage, potatoes EVERY day. Sorry but we won’t be back and I can’t recommend this motel to anyone.

The host will answer all questions and when asked about where to eat she sent us a long list of really good places to eat! I will say you will think you are lost getting to the house but it is the last (3rd) driveway which is really a circle driveway. There are so many places to visit. Wed is the Coos Bay farmers market which was really big with great vendors. Shores Park has a beautiful garden and views from the cliffs. Go to the Coos Bay Chamber of Commerce or call them to send you information on the area - so much to do!!! We ran out of time but wanted to see the marine research center which sounds wonderful. I can't say enough about the architecture of the house; stunning with huge windows to look out. I wouldn't suggest having children there or even high energy teens; it just isn't a place for them to play and the house has one big front room connected to the dinning and kitchen area. There are 2 patios and fire pit but please be aware of 'fire season'! Dress warm because the area is known for it's wind and cool temps - mid 60s' when we were there. We would love to go back and will sometime next year for sure. Please enjoy your stay!!!!
