Lake 'N Pines Motel, hotel in Cooperstown

Lake 'N Pines Motel is located on Otsego Lake and 11.8 km from downtown Cooperstown and The National Baseball Hall of Fame. It is located 20 km from the Cooperstown Dreams Park facilities.

'Is there breakfast?' 'No humans serve food'. It was a weird start to a 5 night stay. However, rubbish vending machines only. Location was perfect, bed was comfortable, everything worked, but it was very old fashioned and tired. Parking was excellent. Internet adequate.

Visions Inn, hotel in Cooperstown

Just 100 metres from the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, this Cooperstown inn is housed in a former 19th-century brewery. Lake Otsego is less than 5 minutes’ walk away.

The property was escribed by its owners as "elegant." It was not. Although the room was very large, it the furnishings looked old, much used, and out of date. The bathroom was OK, nothing special. The A/C worked well and was not noisy. The TV was OK and easy to use. The mattress was memory foam, I believe, which made it hard to move around on it. The hallway leading to the room smelled like old wet carpet and /or cleaning liquid. The yellow caution strip on the floor near the stairs was covered up by a rug and caused us to stumble over it. Someone should check daily that the rug doesn't cover the strip, or someone will fall and hid their head on the wrought-iron banister. We were not told when checking in that the room key was for the lock in the handle, not the lock above the handle. So we thought the key did not work after trying it in the upper lock and did not see the lower lock since the area was dimly lit. A little note on the door or being told when checking in would have helped us. That was not a good introduction to our stay after driving on a hot day for 5 hours. I would not return to this property, though I might return to its restaurant, where the service and food were very good.

It was the wrong time of year to go to Cooperstown as many attractions including restaurants close after 8/31. Many of shops were not handicap accessible fir someone in a motorized wheelchair as they had steps up into shop which my husband cannot do in his chair. Baseball hall of fame was great. Farmer’s museum was great. Farmer’s market although open on Tuesday had just a few vendors as that is an attraction that decreases after 8/31

We were there to visit the National Baseball League Hall of Fame. If you love baseball or even just like it, you must visit. It’s a wonderful tribute to America’s national pastime. Definitely loved everything about it. The town in general has great character. Nice places to shop with kind and friendly people working in the various venues. There are enough quality places to eat to satisfy most people’s needs. I look forward to returning to Cooperstown.

My husband and I traveled first weeks of off season when weather was mild and foliage colors alive. Arrived on a Thursday evening to check in and visited Hall of Fame Friday. Cooperstown is a wonderful throwback town in the mountains. An enthusiastic baseball fan could spend hours, possibly 2 days+ taking in all the history presented. Enjoyed visiting history outside of major city in this lovely landscape. Thank you to the residents of this beautiful town for keeping it alive. Visited late October, no crowds. Even though some places were closed for the season, we don’t feel like we missed much. Museum was not crowded so easy to take time and read to experience. Mel’s 22 was fantastic for dinner… best to reserve ahead.

We usually visit Cooperstown in the summer but the fall is much nicer. In the summer the town is packed with little leaguers, which is to be expected. There are so many other places to visit outside of Cooperstown including the Fly Creek Cider Mill and Oneonta which is 30 minutes away from Cooperstown.

Cooperstown is a charming village, very walkable with excellent restaurants and shops. We especially liked the Doubleday Cafe which had gluten free bread available. The Baseball Hall of Fame is located in the village with reasonable cost parking available a short walk away. The Fenimore Art Museum and Farm Museums are close by. A very pleasant place. We watched a baseball game at Double Day Field to conclude our very pleasant day there.

Cooperstown is one the most beautiful places to visit and stay. In fact we are considering moving there one day that's how much we love it. It's clean and safe and the houses are just so picturesque...the people who do live there should be very proud ....they take excellent care of their homes and make the area so beautiful. The lakes are gorgeous. The hall of fame is so interesting if you enjoy baseball...Doubleday field is awesome and well kept...the shops and restaurants are top notch with very friendly staff. Doubleday Cafe has the best waffle you'll ever eat...the Hawkeye Grill has the best cheeseburger and prime rib panini you will ever taste and the view is beyond heavenly. Bottom line, if you want a relaxed, fun, just plain nice vacation...you will never go wrong with a stay in Cooperstown.

Fantastic location; spacious room when traveling with two teenagers; the coupons for the Lake Front Restaurant were greatly appreciated (and it was a delicious breakfast). Fresh towels were brought to our room for our second night, which doesn't happen a lot these days at other hotels.

Our stay was in the fall unfortunately after restaurant was closed. But this hotel is clean vintage on the lake (not much view from room) close to everything town has to offer. Would stay again at the reduced seasonal rate otherwise might compare other options.
