Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Columbus Near Fort Moore, hotel in Columbus

Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Columbus Near Fort Moore in Columbus features 2-star accommodations with barbecue facilities. The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool and a 24-hour front desk.

First of all, the staff is really friendly and welcoming. I think Missy (I hope I am remembering her name correctly) and I interacted the most. She checked us in and took care of several needs with courtesy bordering on joy. :) Josh deserves special mention as well. The room was adequate for our needs. There was a conveniently located supermarket and a number of restaurants (Chinese and Korean deserve the shout outs there). Breakfast was also adequate. It's not the Hampton Inn, but the price is also proportionate.

Hampton Inn Columbus/South-Fort Benning, hotel in Columbus

This Columbus hotel is 5 mi from the Chattachoochie Riverwalk along the Georgia-Alabama border and 4 miles from Central Fort Benning.

All staff members were pleasant to deal with and made you feel that they really are there for you. Front desk, dining staff, etc. Not a single issue. The dining staff did a great job of keeping everything stocked during breakfast hours with hot food. The room was very clean as were the linens. The HVAC worked well. The nightlight in the bathroom was a nice touch to avoid running into things in the middle of the night!

    Columbus is a nice town.

Columbus is a nice town. The downtown area has a lot of promise but lacks in high quality restaurants. The river front area is beautiful. We did the zipline which was a lot of fun. Highly recommend. Great place to stay if you're going to an Auburn football game. Samuri sushi was very good.

    Columbus was AMAZING!!!

Columbus was AMAZING!!! “The Breeze” WhiteWaterExpress rafting guide was exceptional!!! He took out 6 first timers ages 10 to 55 and every one of us said we would go again!!!! We are at Hulihan’s; sang karaoke, played pool, and ate at The Pizza Place; shopped at the toy store across from The Pizza Place; ate At Japanese Cuisine & Sushi Bar; had drinks at Scruffy Murphy’s Irish Pub & Eatery; (toured the INFANTRY MUSEUM - 3 different times in the same 1 week trip!!) We also toured the Columbus Museum, tour the National Naval Museum; toured the Cocoa Cola Space Museum; enjoyed a same day marriage license and courthouse wedding; zip lined across the Chattahoochee river from Georgia into Alabama and then back across it with WhiteWaterExpress at 100 Bay Avenue uptown. We had door dash Pizza Hut and Baskin Robins delivered to our Microtel location at 1728 Fountain Court for a child’s first birthday party in the hotel dining area. We walked, we drove our own vehicle, and we took Ubers multiple times. Visited Fort Moore military installation multiple times for multiple military ceremonies. We had Tim Horton’s and Dunkin Donut’s coffees and donuts; watched a movie at AMC 13; shopped Walmart Super Center and Men’s Warehouse near Microtel; and enjoyed dinner and shopping in OLD TOWN also about 3 miles from the Microtel we stayed at. GLORIOUS! Truly, we did more than I have listed over the span of 2 (1 week vacations) between mid-May and mid-August. It was absolutely wonderful!!!!

Columbus is a cute town on the river.

Columbus is a cute town on the river. I only stayed for two days and felt it was plenty of time. This was a "get away" trip and so we mostly relaxed. The Black Cow had delicious burgers, and we also LOVED a coffee shop downtown build in an old bank.

Columbus is one of the safest towns to stay overnight in Georgia. Plenty of handicap parking and well lighted. We arrived late for an overnight stay enroute to Hilton Head. Dining options were crowded due to Friday evening activities. A Steak and Shake one block away filled the bill for us . The highways into / out of Columbus were in excellent condition and scenic👍💥

Run down dirty hotel I was there 3 nights and my room was not cleaned! My toilet wa blocked since I arrived. I reported it to several front desk staff until I met the maintenance guy and he fixed it. Up until then I used the public bathroom! The pool area is awful’ I should have taken pictures of the tor lounger. The manager did call me but never returned my calls! Yet no credit fir my inconvenience

There were a number of things wrong with the room.

There were a number of things wrong with the room. Let’s start with the bed the comforter had stains one appeared to have been detergent the other unknown I didn’t realize it until I took the top sheet off. A lamp in the room was broken the outlets they provide on the tables are lose and don’t hold your charger. Bathroom- The shower had hair in the drain, an open bar of soap and a random shaver cap. It wasn’t properly cleaned The drain stopper wasn’t even in the drain but on the floor or the tub. The towel hook is coming off the wall. The rack they have over the toilet was rusted and definitely needs to be replaced. The toilet barely flushed the sink didn’t look like it was cleaned. One good thing is they have a refrigerator and a microwave both looked clean, the Wi-Fi was easy to connect too I was able to use my fire stick. House keeping kept knocking on the door even with the do not disturb sign on the door handle. The AC unit needs to be cleaned but it worked so that’s better than nothing. I booked that hotel because of the price it was affordable and because of the pool, the pool was not open which is something they should have told you prior to booking the room, I mean it’s July in Georgia it’s hot and gross outside a pool would have been nice to use. The ice machine was broken and it smelled like urine. Good things about the hotel is that is its just a few minutes away from the airport which was great, the staff was friendly at least whoever I spoke too. They do have vending machines but those are located where the ice machine is and it smells. I can’t say I will ever go use them again. It is a privately owned hotel apparently so the owner needs to stop being cheap and upgrade the rooms, hire better cleaning staff as well or make sure the rooms are checked.
