Too many things to name The Mining Museum was very interesting. Manitou Springs Cliff Dwellings were definitely worth the trip, within a few minutes of Colorado Springs. We went to a haunted house right before Halloween which was better than the ones I've been to in Denver. Cave of the Winds was interesting, but they have not kept the atmosphere they had several years back. It was much better then. I would still recommend it.

Manitou Cliff Dwellings was interesting & a nice spot for all ages. Be advised there are a lot of steps throughout, but also some accessible ramps. The highlight of our 2 day stay was Garden of the Gods. Beautiful! Don't miss the pretty easy hike to Twin Sisters and the unusual view of Pike's Peak from there. The nearby Manitou Trading Post was a fun place to shop. We took the Cog Railway up to Pike's Peak. I'm glad we did it, but it's a once is enough kind of thing. Staff on the train were great. The actual train ride wasn't terribly comfortable - felt squished, but it was much better than walking up there! :) We had altitude ickiness at the top, but water and a sugary donut were medicinal. There is a cafe, gift shop (sparse inventory that day) and bathrooms. Photo-ops enough to please an instagrammer. Our favorite meal in Colorado Springs was at 3.14 Pie Bar - outstanding savory pot pies and slices of dessert pies. Speaking of yummy, it seems like this town is home to some great pastry chefs. We also had great desserts at Marigold's and Edelweiss. Adventure mini golf & Legends mini golf were really fun & inexpensive. Bonus - turns out starting our road trip in Colorado Springs & up through Denver and then Boulder went a long way in acclimating us to the altitude so that we had no problems by the time we got to Rocky Mountain National Park.

Beautiful area, lots to see.
Beautiful area, lots to see. Garden of the Gods, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Air Force Academy, spectacular views of Pikes Peak and surrounding mountains. Also the rolling hills to the east with numerous farms and ranches are so nice. A drive up to Woodland Park is very nice as well.

The best thing was the location of the hotel relative to the Air Force Academy. The next best was all the restaurants nearby and the convenience of I-25. Although I did not use the pool or gym it was nice that they were indoors especially if it was snowing outside. My brother really liked the custom omelet station during breakfast.
Beautiful property with so many additional touches to make your stay comfortable. We had a wonderful few days exploring Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs, all within easy access from here
The location was really only the best thing about this hotel. We needed to be really close to the Pikes Peak Gun Club and it was 10 minutes away from it.
The hotel was really clean and the staff were great! We liked the location, and the price was fantastic compared to the usual chain hotels in the area.
