It was better than expected. There was more than enough stuff. I did look for some eggs to cook. I like old houses with personality and the Clark house had that. Beautiful.

We didn’t really know what to expect - was it hype or was Clarksdale really a place where you could hear great music? We weren’t disappointed. Actually more good music than we could take in. And uncommon hospitality. Good food at the Yazoo Pass Restaurant. Or - if something’s going on at the Ground Zero Blues Club, amazing crawfish out in the parking lot. The Delta Blues Museum, housed in the old railroad depot, is definitely worth a visit. Blues with your breakfast at the Bluesberry Cafe. And up close and personal at Red’s, one of the few remaining “authentic” juke joints in the Mississippi Delta. All of it within about a ten-block area. Don’t let the run-down appearance of the place alarm you - if you love the blues you’ll love Clarksdale.

Clarksdale has a ton of potential.

Clarksdale has a ton of potential. We found it frustrating that we were there for a supposed big music festival and restaurants were out of food early. There did not seem to be enough prep on the part of the facilities to handle the few more people there as the festival has not gained traction yet to be something where massive crowds are an issue.

I loved the town; I have been there many times.

I loved the town; I have been there many times. Good food and music in the bistro district. I recommend Blues Berry Cafe, Red’s, Ground Zero, Hambone’s, the Blues Museum. We commuted to Helena’s King Biscuit Blues Festival Friday and Saturday. I will never stay at America’s Best Value again. We cut our stay short due to our discomfort with the room. There are better places to stay if you plan ahead

    It was a cultural experience.

It was a cultural experience. Talk to Roger at Cathead Music & Art Gallery. He knows everything there is to know abt Clarksdale. Go to Hambone's and Red's Juke Joint. Avoid tamales at Hick's! It was Xmas Eve - restaurants were closed but our hostel hosts included us in their unique Christmas Eve dinner.

We came on a Sunday and were here through Monday. Many restaurants were closed and there were no music venues. I think the best time to visit here is when there is a music festival. The Blues Museum was good.
