Birchwood inn, hotel in Chincoteague

Located in Chincoteague, Birchwood inn is 13 miles from Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport. Featuring a garden, this 4-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with a private bathroom.

The motel is a good location, on the main street. It is also very good value for Chincoteague, which can be pricey. As you would expect for the price, the facilities are a little basic. Keys were available for self check-in on arrival, which made a late arrive possible.

It has a great location and a very friendly staff.

It has a great location and a very friendly staff. No breakfast which would have been nice, and we brought our own coffee maker. The facility as a whole needs updating but they have done some and the beds are great. Overall we had a good stay and would come back. This time of the year it's very busy on the Island so it's hard to speak to the value overall.

It was a great place until we saw the condition of our room. There was something all over the pillows, blinds did not work. The fire detector and been removed, the floors hadn't been sweep in forever. Just nasty accommodations.

Beautiful and clean beach. Not too crowded.

Beautiful and clean beach. Not too crowded. Small town with great restaurants. Lily's Little Mexican food truck is authentic and delicious! Most restaurants are closed by 9pm. Funland Amusements is great for a fun day with the kids or teens. $25 wristbands are worth it.

We loved Chincoteague!! It is sooo beautiful!!

We loved Chincoteague!! It is sooo beautiful!!🤩 However, there was one thing we were disappointed with, and that was the service here. At least two different restaurants said they were open, but when we got there, they were actually closed😒 Other than that, it was an outstanding experience😀

Chincoteague before Memorial Day and after Labor Day is...

Chincoteague before Memorial Day and after Labor Day is delightful. The shops are open and traffic is minimal. During the summer season, there are a lot of tourists and traffic. There is only 1 way in and out of the island (other than your own boat) and it can quickly become very congested. Other than that, there are many restaurants with varied menus and price points. I recommend going to the Wildlife Refuge and driving the Loop. On this visit, we were able to see a large group of ponies during the drive! Another interesting place to visit is Wallops Flight Facility, which is just before you cross over onto Chincoteague. This is a NASA launch facility, and they have a very interesting display of rockets and other space-related items; you might even catch the launch of a rocket!

Quaint town with good food. Not a lot of people.

Quaint town with good food. Not a lot of people. If you are looking for night life or lots of thing to do, it's not for you. There are a couple of coffee shops, 1/2 a dozen restaurants, 2 mini golfs, a water park, and some small shops. if you want a quiet get away, then it's perfect.

We chose the Chincoteague Inn Motel because of its central location in town and ease of travel to the beach and other attractions nearby. Our room was very clean. The facility does not offer free continental breakfast but does have a screen house for picnics outdoors (with purchased food) -- needed due to the very buggy conditions in the summer! The seasonal outdoor pool was a welcome way to cool off after a day of exploring.

Super affordable compared to the other hotels. My gf and I were looking for something nice but wouldn’t break the bank. It had everything we needed and was a perfect place to stay. It was our first time at the island and we had a blast.

I liked how friendly, polite and accommodating the staff was. The room was far superior to other 3-star hotels I’ve been to—rooms are huge! Everything was squeaky clean too!
