Initially booked for 1 night only but after itinerary changes, we booked another one under a separate booking but same name. When we asked the front desk, they said we still have to checkout, bring our luggage downstairs, and then check in again. Strange.
This review is going to be composed of 2 far end of the extremes.
Our first night experience is consistent with low-starred reviews here. The room was so different from what is advertised online. Almost felt like a cheap motel, just slightly bigger. Worn out furnitures. One lamp broken. Sink was clogged. Soap and shampoo bottles were empty. No mini fridge. We called the front desk to have them fixed, and they said they were going to send someone up. We waited but nobody came. Really very underwhelming and disappointing. But since we were out most of the day, we didn’t think too much about it. The free breakfast is to-go, consisting of a bread of choice, a fruit, and a drink.
This experience made a huge turn on our second night. The housekeeper suggested we take the same room. We didn’t cos we already packed all our stuff, and we were hoping at least for a working sink (we already lowered our standard so as not to be disappointed).
But one front desk staff, MAXINE, was so helpful and friendly in checking us in for our 2nd night, and offered an upgrade as we’re IHG members after telling her all the not so pleasant experience.
The new room, was EXACTLY how it is in the online photos!!! It is so different, so clean, everything’s working, even the window blinds are remote controlled. This was the room we were hoping for, and had fully redeemed our first night experience.
I guess there are 2 groups of people here that are referring to 2 different types of room they were given. I wish I’d taken photos.
