Great location right next to the beach and a short walk to town. The room was clean, efficient use of space, nicely updated and a comfortable bed! Loved the easy code system for the door (no key needed) and the follow up from the owners both before and after our arrival. Everything was perfect!

We didn't use the restaurant for breakfast. We preferred eating at local establishments

Chatham in August is very busy. The Main Street is very crowded all day but as there is a nice collection of shops and restaurants it's the place to go for drinks, a meal, or some shopping. Our rental was tucked away down a very quiet lane and it's really just the main roads and shopping street that seem to get so full.
We didn't eat out much, there's a good supermarket and a weekly farmers market.
We had a tasty casual lunch at Chatham Fish Pier. Our meal at Macs Fish Restaurant was not that great but we had a nice meal at The Goose restaurant.
Definitely recommend a baseball game at Veteran's Field Chatham; we'd never been to a game before and the people in the seats around us were very friendly and happy to fill us in on how it all worked. It was a fun evening. Free parking if there is space next to Veteran's field or go by bike.
We hired bikes which meant we didn't have to pay the high charges for parking at nearby beaches. $25-35 per visit regardless of how long you stay. But Cape Cod is large so you need a car to get further afield. You can easily spend most of your time just exploring the areas reachable by bike around Chatham.
You really need to take your own shade to the beach!
The whale watching out of Provincetown was amazing. We were lucky to have a cloudless, windless day so conditions were perfect and we saw 5 humpback whales - bubble net feeding, lunge feeding and just hanging out very close by.

We have visited chatham at least 20 times over the years and it has become a home away from home- traditional New England town, lovely beaches restaurants, charming downtown - we like morning walks on the beach, seal watching at the pier (don't miss lobster rolls), searching for shells on Hardings beach, summer baseball games, and of course the Friday band concert! See you next year!

Chatham is pretty and friendly waterfront Cape Cod town.
Chatham is pretty and friendly waterfront Cape Cod town. It is monstrously overcrowded in August. No parking, tough to get into restaurants, too much traffic. Too much sizzle not enough steak. Go off season.
Beaches are “protected” by coastal barrier beaches, basically meaning NOT oceanfront in most places.

Charming Cape Cod village, interesting shops, a variety of restaurants, and a variety of Cape Cod attractions within a short distance,i.e. National seashore, Audubon Center, cedar swamp trail, bike paths, etc..
This is a lovely historic New England Inn and we returned for another delightful stay and were not disappointed! Room was quiet and comfortable. We invited my elderly parents along for a vacation and they were given a ground floor room which was perfect for their needs and could enjoy the pool area. Breakfast was wonderful and we would return for the eggs benedict alone! The location is fantastic (close to adorable downtown Chatham and beaches - our favorites are Hardings and Chatham lighthouse beach). The owners are charming and helpful!
A lovely hotel with a spacious room and delicious breakfast. The kitchen staff were very accommodating as we had a very early start one morning and the night before, they set aside breakfast for us!
