Enjoyed our 3 day stay at the hotel especially the balcony looking out into the courtyard which is why we chose the hotel. Used as a base to visit Santa Barbara. Ideal place to stay if you are stopping for the night and travelling onwards.
Tip: Delgado's, a traditional Mexican homemade meals and setting is in walking distance and definitely worth going to. The Shrimp Relleno Michoacano was the best Mexican meal I've ever had!

It's what you would expect from a Motel 6 at its best. Friendly staff, Comfy bed, easy parking. It's for an overnight stay - not a honeymoon. The price naturally reflects this. If you are expecting a motel overnight stay just off the road, this is perfect.
Carpinteria State Beach is less than 10 minutes’ drive from this motel. The non-smoking rooms feature cable TV with HBO. An outdoor pool and hot tub are included.

The Kingsize rooms upstairs mor far in the back are ok, not recommendable are the rooms in front (above the Lobby), terrible noisy and small.

Easy walk from Motel 6 on Carpinteria Street to restaurants and the beach. "The Spot" for burgers! Little Dom's for fancy feed. I walked my doggie in her stroller. Grocery store two blocks down the street. Not fancy digs. Just PEACE and QUIET. Nice pool too.

When I visit my daughter and grandson in Santa Barbara, I like to have my privacy so I stay here. The dog and i can walk to the beach boardwalk in 20 minutes. There's the tasty burger shack where we share! There are bathrooms. On the way to the beach you will find restaurants and shops. The old doggie is in a nice-sized stroller, so we can bring back goodies.
Right next door to the Motel 6 on Carpenteria Street is a grocery store, dollar-type store, and Goodwill too!
Have fun!

We have stayed for years on Thanksgiving.
We have stayed for years on Thanksgiving. We love the hotel, but this year I asked for a disabled room and although the shower tub was much lower my husband still had a hard time. We needed a roll in shower.

Like I said in the past I love carpenteria Carpenter is great only thing I can't stand about motel 6 over here south, they allow the sheriffs to just drive up in the parking lot and that's against the constitutional rights of the hotel and it's guests (Private Property).. sheriff should not be on the property unless called not driving through the lot looking at people's cars and stuff that's that's against the constitutional rights.. but other than that the carpenter with South motel 6 is my store that's why I like to go, should have more American maids and all that I understand the Mexican thing and all but a lot of them don't understand English man tell me I should I should understand Spanish no no this is America you should understand English 99% of the guests understand English...

A good suburb of Santa Barbara with good restaurants, beach and grocery shops. A 10-15 minute drive on motorway to Santa Barbara where there is good parking options in the back streets - mostly 90 mins. We managed free parking all day by moving to different areas for our site seeing. Cost if accommodation better value than Santa Barbara but you will need to drive that is the compromise. We ate at the Italian and the Thai restaurant, both were excellent.

The room was actually booked. cozy clean room in a roadside hotel. clean bedding and towels.
at the reception there is hot water for drinks, coffee and tea. there is a microwave. it is very convenient.
outdoor pool, large with cold water, small heated.
beautiful view of the mountains.
free parking.
Staff was very courteous upon check In and check out. The entire hotel is squeaky clean. Even though it is near the freeway, traffic noise never interfered with our sleep. The interior courtyard is a lush, unexpected oasis.
The cost of a hotel, but definitely the quality of a Motel. All a bit tired and dated. Not terrible, and nothing to complain about (other than the high price), but nothing remarkable. Average in every sense
