When I arrived, nobody was at the desk waited for a good 15 minutes
I was surprised to find out they did not have an elevator, and we had lots of luggage.
The room was very, very small. The bathroom was smaller than my hall closet. The TV did not work in the continental breakfast was very limited.

A hostel with a really nice vibe and plenty of character. Lovely outdoor sheltered area too and a lounge packed with books (and some musical instruments). Kitchen was clean and reasonable well equipped (& lots of free food & communal spices etc!). The mattrasses were comfy too. For a town of seemingly quite high accommodation prices this is good value too.
Only good sized town in Owens Valley. Came in late afternoon Saturday with sidewalk rolled up. Many businesses closed Sunday, or open after we had to leave town. More affordable than other OV towns. Western Film museum great if you like old westerns.

I visit Bishop once or twice every year. So much to see around- Big pine for 7 lakes hike, Inyo National Park, Mono lake, mammoth lake not far, time after Whitney hike, on way to Lake Tahoe and just to hang out in Bishop. Great to visit in summer and fall. Fall colors are amazing. Erick Schat’s bakery not to be missed.

Bishop is a small town that offers a bunch of outdoor recreation. We mainly go for the rock climbing in the area. It is also a great stop if you're headed to Mammoth, June Lake, Yosemite, etc. from the south. It's more or less our home away from home. Due to the small nature of the town, it's very easy to meet locals that you could possibly see on your next visit, and it's easy to get around and to know which spots to get gas and food from. For food, we recommend the taco truck (Taqueria mi Guadalajara), Indiego, and Erick Schat's. For climbing gear, my favorite would be the mammoth gear exchange.

We just stayed for the night on our way out of Yosemite NP.
We just stayed for the night on our way out of Yosemite NP. Hard to comment with that limited stay. Getting to the City is easy if you love Sierra mountains. You need a taxi. I would explore Bishop more in future. Nice access point to Sierra.
My usual go to place in Bishop. convenient to places to eat. Room was very clean and comfortable. TV controls did not work but since I was only there for one evening it was not a big deal. You also get a discount at the Pizza Place right next to the Inn.
Beautiful hotel, perfect room, friendly and helpful staff. Recommend to take a hot tub in the evening, pool is open to 10pm.
After travelling 3 weeks in the U.S. this was one of the best hotels we stayed.
