Availability. For some reason when we booked our room, the confirmation said smoking room (we just left a facility because of this smell & we do not do smoking rooms, at all; it wasn’t a smoking room that we booked, but it propagated as such). Initially the CSR said there was nothing they could do to change it, but, after explaining the above, he did at no charge. Thankfully!! There weren’t many rooms available in Bham and we were exhausted by exhausting our resources.

The smell was horrible upon arrival and the entire time their. spider webs everywhere, bugs crawling, dirty floors, a huge hole behind batroom mirror and feces of some animal, something moving in walls, toilets made noise every night. The power went out Wed night for about 6 or 7 hours on top of the place being non funtionable for hours, I had to throw my food out.
I was suppose to have a business meeting at the house but couldn't because of the smell. In order for me to stay their I had to clean myself and purchase sleeping bags to sleep on top of beds because I wasn't sure how clean they were. It's a nice house, but needs lots of TLC and a cleaning crew that cares.

Scenic View corner Cafe was way too expensive!
Scenic View corner Cafe was way too expensive! Only place we found for breakfast before my son's graduation and for biscuit and gravy that tasted like oil (my son said) and 2 scrambled eggs, 2 sausage patties, 2 toast and 1 can soda was $38..... This food was horrible for this price! The construction work on the highways and traffic, was the first time in 10 years since I've been up there and they were doing the same crap then, and I would not go back unless I absolutely have to!

Location was easy.
Location was easy. Spent 4.5 hours booking hotel and paying more than other hotel was and red roofs was extremely terrible conditions compared to cheaper hotel that was canceled prior, which was exceptionally frustrating! Also, 1 and only amenity requested, breakfast was not offered, wasn't even able to make a cup of coffee!

Everything absolutely perfect, with the exception of the last night we were there. We brought food back from attending a volleyball tournament and we sat in the dining area, NOTHING WAS POSTED IT WAS CLOSED, and a gentleman/employee was not so nice, saying we should not sit there because he was going to have to clean up after us.
We did not leave a mess.

See reviews by guests who stayed at hotels in Birmingham
The area where the hotel is located is safe, has a lot of restaurants and shopping and is near the hospital where I'm working. The staff seem socially awkward in that they don't maintain eye contact and their voices have an irregular cadence but seem approachable. The shower isn't adjustable, but it has decent pressure, and the water gets hot. The black out curtains are a nice touch for night shift workers like me.
Rooms were comfortable, spacious, plenty of towels in bathroom. Plenty of hot water with a high pressure shower head. Gym has multiple machines - elliptic, treadmill, etc. Location is about 10 minutes from RTJ golf courses, 20 minutes to downtown Birmingham.
The hotel was good and people working there were very nice but it was smelling weed in the room and the hotel was packed so I couldn’t change room. Please enforce your Non smocking policy or give a partial refund next time ;) thanks
Breakfast was a major disappointment. I was looking forward to seeing what a big beautiful Sheraton hotel breakfast would be like. It was the same if not less than what a discount hotel provides. Total rip-off at $20.
Hot Breakfast, needed somewhere to hold luggage for a few hours while we went to go and tour downtown Birmingham, hotel management offered to store our luggage for us. A lot of food close by.
