Bristlecone Motel, hotel in Big Pine

Just off of US 395, less than a 20-minute drive from Bishop, this motel features a gas station and convenience store on site. The rooms include free Wi-Fi.

Room was spacious and clean, and I could park immediately in front of it. Mini mart was quite convenient, being in adjacent building. Room was adequate for a one night stay, and kitchen was functional. Staff very positive and friendly when we checked in. Prices in store were incredibly reasonable for this small town. Appreciated that this property uses solar panels for better energy efficiency. We like the high cathedral ceiling, beams, and tongue and groove ceiling. Good array of TV channels. Air conditioning turned on prior to our arrival, so room was nice and cool when we got there. Property is across the street from a superb coffee house.

Wayfinder Bishop, hotel in Big Pine

Voted #1 in lodging for Inyo County, Our hotel is located in Bishop, California. The natural flowing Bishop Creek runs through our beautifully manicured and landscaped grounds.

I was way in the back with a view of the parking lot. The room was pleasant but dark. I’m 82 so I seem to need more light than when I was younger. Hallways seemed dark.

Great coffee shop in town, I think it was called Brewed...

Great coffee shop in town, I think it was called Brewed Awakening, excellent coffee, food, and atmosphere. I had the fruity waffles which were super yummy! Big Pine is a great launching pad for the Ancient Bristlecone Pine forest, 4,000 year old trees just off the first exit off of 395 north!

Lots of pine trees and old homes.

Lots of pine trees and old homes. Mountain Views Galore and amazing views of the Ancient Bristlecone Forest. Friendly people, lots of wildlife, and many roller coaster-like winding roadways especially route 168 which you have to journey through!

This is the second time we stayed at this motel. Good value for money, the guy at the front desk, was very polite and helpful. Really like this place over others because they're dog friendly and there is no extra charge (tired of being fleeced by other hotels for traveling with a dog). Will def stay again should we return to the Big Pine area. The washroom is rather huge so that's a plus too.

We went to the hike on Big Pine Lake, and it is really close to the hike. It takes about 20 minutes from the motel to the trail. The room is big enough for family 4-5 ppl. The room has big space with microwave and small fridge, and it has small mini-mart and restaurant beside it (literally you can just walk to get food and gas). Recommend for people who are going to hike around the area.
