Bessemer, AL is our halfway point for our trip from Bridge City, TX to Charleston, WV. We have stayed in several of the hotels on Academy Way and I must say, the Holiday Inn is our choice for all future stays. We rested very well in this facility and location.

We spent our time in Hoover and downtown Birmingham. We had been to Bessemer before and our experience then was that the hotel was its best feature. My opinion remains the same. If you go, stay at the Hampton; however, plan for your interests and/or activities to be 20-30 minutes away.

Location was good. Comfortable beds. No breakfast, no coffee, no bagged breakfast , fruit or muffins, ** As Advertised** no coffee in the hotel at all. Coffee maker in room did not work and no one could replace it. The Staff said they had no idea how to take care of it for us, they couldn’t help us, & couldn’t give us another coffee pot. We had to leave the facility to get morning coffee and bring it back in. We arrived at the hotel 7:15 pm, our room was not ready. After driving eight hours. It was not convenient to have to wait another 30 minutes for our room to get ready. Very rude night staff. Renovations going on, somewhat unclean.

Area nice u have all u need in that whole area. Waffle House im front, Juicey Crab right in front, Gas Stations, then under the Over path Gas Station dolor. Walmart, Restaurants, Dollar Tree and etc. Adventure Water Park 5 mins around the corner.

What I disliked the smell in the evening of front desk smell of marijuana smoke strong coming from the front office .
Children running through the building throwing snack wrappers on the floor no one getting after them .
My bed sheets had human secretions on them very visible pillow cases had stains .I slept on top of the spreads .TV did not work .Carpet and tv furniture dirty dusty

We were happy to arrive at the Tops'l Beach Manor after having to stay overnight at the out dated dirty Quality Inn. If I see Quality Inn listed I will be looking elsewhere. And I dont appreciate talking to your booking associate and giving them all info to book a room that was not available. THEN had to tell info all over again so he could reserve the Quality Inn in Bessemer Al. Then got disconnected. So I went online and booked it myself. The site took my credit card for 2 rooms. We arrive and discover that we were not even registered.

The hotel was gross. The check in time was different from what it said online, I get up to the room and it was smelly like mold, the location was bad and there was drug deals going on in the parking lot. The outlets didn’t work, some of the lights wouldn’t turn on, there was dead bugs in the room. I tried to get a refund and they wouldn’t give me one when I was in the room for 10 mins. I ended up getting another hotel somewhere else and didn’t stay there at all.
As I entered the hotel I could smell the elements of cleanliness, which I’m a big fan of I was just amused at the constant professionalism. So with that being said the Hamilton in Bessemer Alabama is a 5 star hotel you will not be disappointed. Great staff and great stay.
This hotel is absolutely horrible and mold everywhere three out of six children threw up for 2 days I had nowhere else to go. Nobody takes responsibility for the problems in the hotel I will be snowing reports to the state the health facility and everything else.
Someone smoked in a room at 12:30 am.
The alarm went off and the entire hotel was evacuated in the middle of the night.
All because some idiot thought they should have a late night smoke.😡
