We spent the night in Beaufort to break up our trip to Saint Augustine. We felt like we had found a hidden gem! We loved our stay so much in this beautiful historic waterfront community that we returned the following weekend to stay another night. The waterfront park with all of the swings facing the water was so peaceful and relaxing. There are several options for waterfront, dining. The antebellum homes, and churches we’re very interesting and beautiful.

This property is within Beaufort's historic district. If you love the architecture of old homes, this spot was beautiful. Unfortunately, our stay was much to short to experience the area as I would have liked.

Loved the town so much that we extended our stay 2 more nights. Loved walking around town and along the waterfront. Great restaurants, shops and views. Plenty to do or wonderful spots to relax and just enjoy.

We went to Beaufort to attend the Marine Corp graduation at Parris Island. The location couldn't have been more perfect for the occasion, due to close proximity. Walking into the location you could see and smell the cleanliness. There was enough room for guests to lounge and socialize comfortably, with a pool table available for enjoyment. The room was very spacious, modern, quiet, and comfortable. We actually thanked the staff for such a great experience before departure, especially as guests at Tru Hotel for the first time. I hope all locations live up to this standard.

Like most coastal towns Beaufort has grown fast.
Like most coastal towns Beaufort has grown fast.
With one main road in and out Beaufort traffic can be heavy. We experienced gridlock on one occasion and learned not to be on the road during peak times. There was still parking downtime in city lots but getting harder to move around.
Beaufort is still a nice place just would like to go back maybe 10 or so years. May look for a smaller place to vacation later in the year with less traffic and fewer folks..
Still a couple of local places like Shrimp Shack but losing most Mom and Pop shops which loses a lot of local charm. Getting to look more like other towns with clearing land and loss of trees. Losing Oaks for Walmart is not OK.

Very cute town seemingly full of tourists.
Very cute town seemingly full of tourists. The waterfront park is a highlight, my child loved the park and we had a great lunch at Luther's. We felt very safe and there are public restrooms by the park which is always a plus! I didn't travel to the beach, so I'm not sure how far it is.

The cottage had everything a family or small group would need to enjoy their stay in the area. The kitchen was well appointed, the washer/dryer was new and efficient and the bedrooms were comfortable. It was a place I could have stayed long term.
The house is over 100 years old and is in the historic part of Beaufort. My husband is a history buff so right up his alley. We could walk everywhere and take in the beauty of the city.
