The motel is located opposite Barstow Station, very convenient for me since I travel by public transportation. There's a Walmart supercenter nearby, while there's plenty of food and drinks at Barstow Station. I had a lovely, relaxing time and felt safe. Good value for money, too.

Great location sitting right on the edge of the desert. If you have a room facing East it makes for great photos sunset and sunrise. Breakfast was nice and as expected with this Hampton Inn chain. The staff were really fantastic and helpful.

The customer service is great , and the maids are froendly
You get what you pay for. It was a bit dirty. I'm fairly sure that I got bed bug bites from the mattress. It was hot when we arrived. They did not have the A/C turned on and it took 2 hours to cool down so we could sleep.

The route 66 museum was unfortunately closed. The railway museum was open, not that interesting unless you are a train nerd.. The Harvey House building could have been interesting, but not much to see and no guide available. The Calico ghost town was very commercial unfortunately.. The McDonalds was fun in old railroad cars! The murals are cool! It could have been a drive through destination instead of a stop over.

Barstow is a great place to stop and rest when traveling long distance. There are many restaurants to choose from. Accomodations are the most reasonable I have ever experienced and you get so much more for your money. People in Barstow are friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed our visit to Barstow very much. Exciting to drive a short section of the famous Route 66. The highlight of our visit was the historic Harvey House, which has an amazing and interesting story related to Fred Harvey, who came up with the idea of providing quality places for train-riders to stay and eat beginning in the late 1800’s. This Harvey House is home to three must-see museums/centers: Route 66 Mother Road Museum, Western America Railroad Museum, and NASA Goldstone Deep Space Visitors Center. All are free of charge, but welcome donations. Visiting hours are shorter and some are weekends only. So check before going. A bonus activity is watching the trains passing by, which happens multiple times in an hour.

Barstow was a great stopover for us after having flown to LA from Australia, en route to Las Vegas. It was a pleasant town, easy to walk around, safe, and had a great Route 66 museum for car enthusiasts.
Panda Express was a great takeaway option for a meal.

- Breakfast had many options, probably the best hotel in terms of option and not necessarily the quality! You can take the coffee and tea to go.
- Comfy beds
- Good customer service and there was a lady helping you with the breakfast
- Free parking (plenty of space but does get filled fairly quickly)
I have stayed at this hotel several times and do so because of the location and the fact I always get good service. The rooms are always nicely presented. The cooked breakfast is welcome too!
