I stayed at the hotel two nights outbound on my trip and also returning from my trip and the dinner meals were outstanding. The salmon and everything on the first night was cooked to perfection but the other night that I stayed was, they had a steak and vegetables and again the steak and the vegetables were just outstanding. Hope you keep up this program and also on the last trip I inadvertently left my down vest hanging in the closet and my daughter called the hotel a week or two later and you had the jacket and lost and found, and you mailed it to her so that I can get it back again. Outstanding service could not be more pleased.

When I arrived at the hotel I had to wait for 1/2 hour for...
When I arrived at the hotel I had to wait for 1/2 hour for maintenance to install a new A/C unit. Also, the coffee maker didn't work and I had to use a towel to catch the liquid coming out of the coffee maker before it fell on the carpet and I was charged $35 for a "stain" on the towel, which could have been washed out.

Very interesting city. Old parts becomming new again. Oil industry fading in importance. Buck Owens Crystal Palace and many other attractions. Good Mom and Pop businesses to patronize. Stay a few days. An opportunity for Bakersfield is to make a safe place to swim in the Kern River.

We were coming from Northern CA and this was a very nice place to stop to break u our drive. Bakersfield is not a place I would choose to visit. We used it as a stopover and staying at the Hourglass helped to make it the right choice.

I’ve probably stayed in at least 50-100 hotels and I have never seen the ENTIRE hotel without TV reception. Something must be seriously wrong for that to be allowed to happen. So I would never recommend this hotel to anyone else.
