I liked the simple extras - black wash cloth for makeup removal - glass instead of plastic glasses. Staff was very friendly, especially Amanda at the front desk. She was quite helpful about not only places to eat but sites to go see. The bed was very comfortable and the towels were large (sometimes in places the bath towels are as big as a face towel)

Extremely clean, stay there whenever I go to Astoria. Love the atmosphere, food, people, and location. Even the sea lions are fun! Yes, they are noisy - but it's worth it!

Hampton Inn & Suites Astoria, hotel in Astoria

Featuring an indoor swimming pool, this Astoria, Oregon hotel is a 20 minute drive from Lewis and Clark National Historical Park. Free Wi-Fi is provided in all rooms.

We spent a night here for our 11th anniversary driving in from Portland for a chill weekend by the coast. This property is right next to rogue brewery and the cafe next door we walked to for breakfast. We also did the bumble bee tuna walk thru tour. Location was great. Front desk was welcoming and fast. We used the hot tub in the evening, it was loud due to the other families using the pool and kids jumping and doing cannon balls into the pool so not relaxing at all for us. But that’s not the facilites fault that was just other people not being aware of others around them. Overall a great property.

Astoria is a good gateway to the Oregon Coast worth a short stay. Like many smaller communities, the economy has not rebounded from covid closures. Interesting harbor, waterfront areas with a tram for visiting attractions. The Maritime museum is very interesting and worth a visit. Also the Astoria Tower.

It was a neat place - there are several places of interest they advertise, and they are interesting. We did not have the time to spend - we drove around and saw the town - the old buildings are very neat. Mixed in with all of the new. We just did not have the time to do a bunch of things.

We always enjoy our stay in Astoria.

We always enjoy our stay in Astoria. It is the first leg of a VW cruise we participate in every year. We love eating at the Bridgewater Bistro for dinner and the Pig and Pancake Restaurant for breakfast. The area is beautiful. The bridge is unbelievable! And beautiful to just sit and look at! We love Astoria.

The food trucks are on 13th and are great for a quick meal. Astoria is such a lovely walkable city. The streets are numbered one direction and alphabetical the other direction! I never got lost!!! I enjoyed the Japanese Sushi restaurant Torah. I like the burgers at Fort George and the steamed clams at Buoy Beer. I've done the Underground Tour several times!!! Be sure you check to see what entertainment is happening in town -- there is a lot!

We decided to do a touristy weekend, came over form Portland. We found the perfect breakfast spot, very inexpensive and SO good! The Riverwalk Restaurant, the biscuits and gravy are to die for. Our favorite seafood place is South Bay Wild Fish House. We love walking the streets and going into all the groovy little shops. Took the Underground Tour this time which was so fun! Visited the Astoria Column which was so interesting and the scenery from the ground and the top of the column was breathtaking. The climb up the column had me out of breath so caution if you have medical issues or are just plain out of shape like me. My grandson and I went bowling at Lower Columbia Bowl when a beachside fire was out of the question for grandpa lol . Had a blast! We love Astoria!!

Love the antique and unique shops on Commercial in downtown Astoria. Toured the Flavel House, which I definitely recommend. Found a funky sportsbar called the MerryTime which serves giant juicy burgers. Love the sound of the seals and the maritime feel of Astoria.

Budget friendly accommodation in a good location. The views from the balcony definitely made up for the dated rooms. Hotel does look a little sketchy from the front but the rooms were nice for the price and on the riverwalk which is about a 30 min walk to downtown. Good for an overnight stay and the included breakfast was a nice bonus.

I was surprised by the cleanliness that this facility provided! I was a little nervous about the shared bathroom situation but they were so clean and i didn’t have any troubles. I loved the little space I got to stay in and the rest of the hotel was also nicely out together.

It has fridge in room and microwave and Keurig coffee maker. Beautiful view of Columbia River and Astoria. I sat at the table in front of window and enjoyed my coffee. It also has big old claw foot tub bathroom. My husband enjoyed that.

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Beautifully decorated and furnished. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Hire of a record player to play one of the LPs from the hall way was inspirational. I loved it!
