Best city in the South by a longshot. Helene recovery well underway. Folx were so friendly and excited to see tourists back. Amazing how much has been cleaned up in the city itself. Enjoyed so many amazing restaurants downtown and in West Asheville. So many great galleries and art venues as well. Happy to do our part toward helping with full restoration of a magical place in the mountains for so many.

I never get tired of Asheville!
I never get tired of Asheville! An amazing location for so many reasons. We stayed downtown and drove out to Cherokee for the casinos. Also stopped in a few small mountain towns to support their stores and restaurants. Asheville is one of my favorite places! Great scenery, hiking, restaurants, shopping, friendly people.

Asheville NC is utterly charming.
Asheville NC is utterly charming. I visited from Seattle to volunteer post Hurricane Helene. It must be made clear that the severe damage from Helene does not directly apply to downtown Ashville. If you arrived somehow not knowing about the hurricane event, you would remain unaware by downtown appearances. The abundant restaurants, bars and stores are open and there is a lot of fun to be had! This is a unique tourist town and a great place to relax and spend money with great experiences in return. Yes, Helene left tragedy in its wake and the lower lying areas by rivers and streams have experienced devastation. However, Asheville's identity as a fulfilling destination remains powerful, a fact that I found surprising at this early stage of the regions recovery.
My favorite part of Asheville is the community itself. Extremely welcoming, friendly, and helpful people whose spirits are remarkably high given the circumstances. One can really sense that tourism is the life-blood of this town, and I found that spending money there just 'feels good', and makes a real difference. I'm glad to have discovered this NC jewel, albeit way to late in life, and can't recommend it highly enough (now, more than ever).

West Asheville is a funky, artsy, throwback kind of place that is reminiscent of the 1960s in vibe. But it's crowded, full of traffic, poor parking, and lines to get any food or service. It's nice to see for a short stay but nothing special enough to come back. The Biltmore is awesome, but now it's way too expensive for most people to visit.

Location was great. Short walk to Downtown Asheville. Great Japanese style take-out place below the apartment for quick eats. Opposite the bus station if you need public transport to Biltmore, River Arts District or the Airport, but still a quiet location. Comfortable beds, clean apartment, all you need to be able to self cater during your stay. The coffee, tea and milk on arrival was very much appreciated after a long journey from the UK
Good location with an easy drive to downtown Asheville as well as close access to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Pleasant and pretty quiet room. Reasonable wifi although slightly unreliable as our room was probably furthest from the central hub. Good parking.
Asheville is not the cheapest town to stay in, but they charged us a quite low rate in August 2023 - and the accomodation itself is alright, nothing to complain about
